In this database I have created A Galician Super League and Galician First League comprising 20 clubs in total. Also I have created a Galician Cup and Galician Super Cup as well. The biggest club in the league system is Celta Vigo but also includes Deportivo and Lugo!

I have created a Galician Super League featuring 20 clubs, all from the Spanish region of Galicia. Similar to my other videos, like the Catalonian and Basque Country Super Leagues, this one takes over the Irish League system. The Irish Premier Division has been converted into the Galician Super League, and the Irish First Division into the Galician First League.

If you've seen my Basque Country Super League video, you’ll remember that Athletic Bilbao had a rapid decline because they can only sign Basque players. Someone pointed out in the comments that this might also be because of the lower quality of generated players in Ireland compared to Spain. To address this for today’s experiment, I’ve set Ireland’s youth rating to match Spain’s at 145. This adjustment should fix the issue and improve the quality of generated players in this league.

Unlike the Basque Country Super League, the clubs in this league can sign players outside of Galicia, so the effect of generated players might not be as pronounced. However, this change should still help the league improve and may even lead to some memorable performances in Europe.

The Teams

The top teams in Galicia are familiar names. The dominant club is Celta Vigo, followed by Deportivo La Coruña, which was a massive force in Spain not too long ago. Other recognisable teams include Lugo, Pontevedra, and Racing de Ferrol.

However, I ran out of teams with a reputation of 1.5 stars or higher in Galicia. Rather than include lower-reputation local clubs, I decided to include B teams in the Galician First League. This decision should boost the development of young players and improve the league’s overall standard. The B teams include:

  • Celta Vigo B
  • Deportivo B
  • Lugo B
  • Pontevedra B
  • Compostela B

These B teams cannot be promoted to the Super League, ensuring that five other Galician teams will always have a strong chance for promotion.

League Structure and Early Observations

The Galician Super League features 10 teams, with another 10 teams in the First League. Celta Vigo is the biggest club, followed by Deportivo, Lugo, and Celta Vigo B. The smaller teams, like Racing de Ferrol and Pontevedra, are competitive but less likely to win the league in the long term.

After simulating the first five seasons:

  • Celta Vigo dominated, winning all five Super League titles.
  • The league climbed to the 45th biggest in Europe, just below the Turkish second division.
  • Deportivo and Lugo were consistent runners-up, but neither managed to topple Celta Vigo.
  • In the First League, B teams dominated, with Celta Vigo B and Deportivo B winning most seasons. No non-B team has won the First League yet.

10 Seasons In

Celta Vigo continued their dominance, winning 10 Super League titles in a row. The league climbed to 21st in Europe, just below the Croatian First League. Deportivo and Racing de Ferrol showed promise, but Celta’s dominance seemed unshakable.

In the First League, B teams continued to dominate:

  • Deportivo B won six of the 10 titles.
  • Celta Vigo B and Lugo B also performed strongly.

15 Seasons In

Celta Vigo’s dominance remained, with 15 consecutive Super League titles. The league rose to 12th in Europe, just below the Greek Super League. However, Lugo and Deportivo began to close the gap in reputation, signalling potential challenges ahead.

Key highlights:

  • Deportivo B became the most successful team in the First League.
  • Racing de Ferrol and Pontevedra began competing more aggressively in the Galician Cup.

20 Seasons In

Finally, Lugo broke Celta Vigo’s streak, winning three of the next five Super League titles. Celta still held the top spot in terms of reputation, but Lugo established themselves as serious contenders.

The league reached the 11th spot in Europe, and the Galician Cup saw more varied winners, including Lugo and Deportivo.

25 Seasons In

Lugo dethroned Celta Vigo as the top club in Galicia. They won five of the last six Super League titles, cementing their place as the second-biggest force in the league. Deportivo also continued to grow, winning additional Galician Cups.

The First League remained dominated by B teams, but Val Miñor achieved a historic win, becoming the first non-B team to win the league in 50 years.

Conclusion After 50 Seasons

After 50 seasons, the final standings for reputation and success are as follows:

  1. Lugo: The biggest club in Galicia by the end of the simulation, winning 30 trophies in total, including 12 Super League titles.
  2. Celta Vigo: Despite being overtaken, they won the most trophies overall with 82, including 36 Super League titles.
  3. Deportivo: Established as consistent contenders, winning 21 trophies, including multiple Galician Cups.
  4. Racing de Ferrol: Strong in cup competitions but failed to win a Super League title.

The Galician Super League rose to become the eighth-biggest league in Europe, surpassing expectations. While Celta dominated early on, Lugo’s rise in the latter half of the simulation shows the dynamic nature of long-term league structures.
