On Football Manager 2024 you also have to work closely with the board to secure the resources you need. Making board requests effectively can be the difference between a club stagnating and reaching new heights. Whether you need more transfer budget, better facilities, or an expansion to the stadium, knowing how and when to make a request is key.
How to Make a Board Request
- Navigate to the Club Vision tab from the sidebar.
- Locate the Overview menu.
- Click on Make Board Request

Stadium Requests
- Request Stadium Expansion or New Stadium: If your club is growing in stature, you can push for bigger facilities.
- Buy Stadium : If your club pays rent to use the current stadium, you can push for buying it.
Staff Requests
- Request Staff Slot: If you need more Staff and you can't hire more, ask for additional slots.
- Increase Staff Allowed: If you feel your staff is overstretched, you can ask to hire more coaches, physios, or analysts.
- Increase Staff Wages: If you need to increase wages to renew with your current staff or to hire new staff, you can ask for a increase in wage budget.

Increasing the Chances of Board Approval
- Timing is Key: Request budget increases or facility upgrades when the club is financially stable.
- Show Progress: If your team is overachieving or performing well, the board is more likely to grant requests.
- Use the Media to Apply Pressure: Publicly discussing ambitions and growth in press conferences can sometimes sway the board.
- Negotiate and Compromise: If the board declines a request, they may offer an alternative, such as a smaller budget increase.
What to Do If a Request is Rejected
- Wait and Try Again: The board’s stance may change over time, especially with better finances or improved performances.
- Improve Your Reputation: Winning titles or achieving board objectives strengthens your influence.
- Consider Moving Clubs: If the board consistently blocks your vision, it may be time to look for a club with more ambitious owners.
How Long Do You Have to Wait After a Board Request is Rejected?
Unfortunately how long it takes before a board will let you request something again is pretty random. It can take weeks, months or even an entire season.
One thing you can do is use notes to set yourself a reminder to check again at regular intervals. Check our guide on using the FM24 Notebook here.
