Newcastle United and PIF Part Ways by Mutual Agreement
Date: June 15, 2026

Newcastle United Football Club can confirm that it has formally concluded its ownership relationship with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, following an internal review and a mutual agreement to part ways.

The decision was reached after an extensive period of strategic reflection, during which concerns were raised about the alignment of values and ethics between the ownership group and the future vision of the club.

“As a football club with a growing voice in the global game, we believe our direction must reflect not only ambition on the pitch, but integrity off it,” said a senior club spokesperson.
“After careful consideration, we determined that the partnership with PIF no longer aligns with the ethical and community-focused foundation we are committed to building.”

While Newcastle United remains immensely grateful for the infrastructure and competitive momentum achieved during the past ownership period, the board has elected to move forward with a model that places sustainability, transparency, and long-term responsibility at its core.

🗣️ Official Statement from the New Ownership Group – NORDVIK FUTBOL AG

From the desk of Ingrid Nyström, Executive Chairwoman

To the fans, the city, and the global Newcastle United community —

Today, we are honoured to begin a new chapter in the story of Newcastle United Football Club.

Our consortium, Nordvik Futbol AG, is a Scandinavian-led group of forward-thinking investors, engineers, and lifelong football enthusiasts. We come with humility, with deep respect for the club’s identity, and with an unwavering belief in the future of Newcastle — not just as a football institution, but as a force for positive change.

We recognise that we step into this role during a time of transition. Following the mutual departure of the previous ownership group, it is important that we are clear about who we are and what we stand for:

🌿 Our Commitment to Newcastle United

Ethical Governance: We believe success should never come at the cost of integrity. Every decision we make will be rooted in transparency, responsibility, and long-term trust.

Sustainability: From our stadium infrastructure to travel, energy use, and club operations — we will lead football’s green revolution.

Tactical Identity: We are committed to building a high-intensity, modern football team that combines youth, development, and strategic investment in elite talent.

Community First: Our investment extends far beyond St James’ Park. We are committed to job creation, education, local partnerships, and making Newcastle a centre of sporting excellence for the North of England.

Stability & Legacy: This is not a short-term venture. This is a generational project. We are here to elevate Newcastle United responsibly and respectfully over time.

We are not here to erase the past — we are here to build on it with purpose. We’ve already begun plans to modernise infrastructure, expand the club’s academy footprint, and introduce partnerships that reflect the club’s evolving identity.

To the fans: your passion is what makes this club different. Our promise is to match that passion with leadership that is ethical, visionary, and deeply committed to this city and its values.

Thank you for welcoming us into your home.

Newcastle United Football Club is proud to unveil a bold new club crest, designed to reflect the club’s evolution into a forward-thinking, sustainable, and globally respected institution.

The updated badge honours the iconic heritage of Newcastle United, preserving the essential elements — black and white stripes, the magpie, and our circular crest — while introducing modern design features that capture our future ambitions.

🗣️ From the Board

“This is more than a new crest. It’s a symbol of who we are becoming — a club rooted in tradition, but brave enough to embrace progress,” said Chairwoman Ingrid Nyström.
“It represents unity, vision, and a respect for both the past and the planet. We’re proud to share it with our fans around the world.”

Newcastle United Confirm Tesla as New Kit Manufacturer and Principal Partner
Date: July 30, 2026

Newcastle United Football Club is proud to announce a landmark partnership with Tesla, who will become the club’s official kit manufacturer and principal partner from the start of the 2026/27 season.

This multi-year agreement marks a first-of-its-kind collaboration between elite football and one of the world’s leading pioneers in clean energy and sustainable innovation.

Tesla’s branding will appear across all men’s, women’s, and academy kits, as well as training wear and club merchandise. The partnership also extends far beyond the pitch — reflecting a shared vision between Tesla and Newcastle United to drive positive environmental change through sport.

⚡ Sustainability at the Core

As part of this groundbreaking deal:

All first-team players and staff will be provided Tesla electric vehicles, reducing the club’s carbon footprint across travel and logistics.

These vehicles will be charged using power generated directly from the Tyneside Eco Arena’s solar infrastructure, eliminating the need for fossil-fuel-powered grids.

Tesla will also collaborate with the club to launch a state-of-the-art energy management system across training facilities, community venues, and future club developments.

🗣️ Club Chairwoman Ingrid Nyström:

“Tesla represents innovation, responsibility, and global progress — values that now sit at the heart of Newcastle United.
This partnership goes beyond sponsorship. Together, we are building a football club that leads not only in performance but in purpose.”

🗣️ Tesla Executive, Naveen Banerjee:

“Newcastle United is a club that dares to do things differently. With the leadership of its new ownership and the Tyneside Eco Arena as a symbol of sustainable sport, Tesla is proud to be part of a project with true long-term impact — both on the pitch and off it.”

The first Tesla-manufactured home, away, and third kits will be officially unveiled later this summer, ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

More details to follow at nufc.co.uk and across the club’s digital channels.

Why are you changing the club but using the same beginning to the same story?

Is there something you don't want to tell us, I'm intrigued.

Yeah mate, basically I thought the storyline with the Newcastle owners (with the Saudi ethical issues they have) would have been a better storyline than Liverpool/Everton , I have used the editor to change the owners and create the new stadium to move into.  I was trying to delete the thread but couldnt so just had to rename it and go forward with Newcastle 🙂
