Earlier in February 2025, fans were left disappointed when Football Manager 25 was canceled following repeated delays and concerns over quality. Sports Interactive promised to regroup and deliver a stronger successor. Just a few months later, Sega’s June 2025 report confirmed that Football Manager 26 was on track for a Fall 2025 release, with the studio pledging a “significant improvement of quality” over past entries.
The August teaser now makes that official: FM26 is real, and it’s coming soon.
The trailer mixes real-life football footage with in-game visuals, creating a dramatic presentation of what FM26 aims to deliver. At the bottom left corner of the video, the words “actual game footage – not final” appear, helping viewers distinguish between cinematic scenes and the true gameplay engine at work.
