Name: Alexander Andersson
Nationality: Swedish
Age: 15
Position: Winger
Preferred Foot: Right
Personality: Balanced
Alexander Andersson is playing for Djurgårdens IF when you start a new save. In our save, he made his debut from the bench and provided his first assist in his opening season. However, his time in Sweden didn’t unfold as he had hoped. He failed to register another league appearance across the next three years. In 2026, he finally returned to the pitch, playing 15 league games before deciding to seek opportunities abroad.
Southampton came calling with a £4.4M offer, hoping Andersson could adapt to the English top flight. Instead, he arrived during a turbulent period as Southampton were relegated to the Sky Bet Championship. There, Andersson spent four years largely as a substitute before finally breaking into the starting eleven in his final season and producing his best form with the club. Across his stay, he managed 128 league appearances and scored 14 goals. Despite his efforts, his time with both Djurgårdens IF and Southampton yielded no trophies or individual accolades, leaving his career in search of a breakthrough.
That breakthrough came in 2032 when AS Monaco signed him for £22.5M. His first year was quiet, registering only 11 league appearances, but patience paid off. By his third season in France, Andersson had cemented himself as a starter and began contributing heavily as both a scorer and creator. At 29, he enjoyed the best season of his career: valued at £145M, he played 31 league games, scored 7 goals, and claimed 12 Player of the Match awards (the most in Monaco’s records).
Maybe he was Monaco’s four-leaf clover. In his very first season, they lifted the French Cup, their first trophy since 2017. More success followed: two further French Cups in 2035 and 2036, a heartbreaking UEFA Europa League runner-up medal, and then, in 2038, the start of a Ligue 1 three-peat. A Trophée des Champions win in 2039 was added to the cabinet. n this golden era, Andersson was there with the captain’s armband. Individually, he’s been in every Monaco Seasonal Best Eleven since 2032, inducted into the club’s Overall Best Eleven in 2037, won the Supporter’s Player of the Year, and was part of the 2038 Ligue 1 Team of the Competition while finishing runner-up for most assists.
Internationally, he scored his first goal at 24. His closest moment to silverware came in 2036, finishing runner-up in the European Championship. Still, his consistency was recognized: named in his country’s Seasonal Best Eleven from 2032 to 2040 and inducted into their Overall Best Eleven in 2037. For his nation, he has 67 caps and 27 goals.
In our save, Andersson’s career was never about quick success. From a forgotten start in Sweden, to struggles in England, and finally a rise in France, he became a captain and a winner, proving it is never too late to leave your mark.
