With the rumours doing the rounds over the last few weeks about new playable leagues coming to FM26 I thought I would break down what those rumours are. In the linked video at the top I discuss this in further detail and give you some save ideas.
The most obvious league seemingly to be added will be the Saudi Arabian leagues, the influx of superstar players and massive transfer fees and wages being offered means this will be a no brainer to be added to FM26 this year.
The UAE is another cash rich league that looks like it may be added this year. The UAE Pro League is considered the 4th best league in Asia after the already mentioned Saudi Pro League, Japanese J League and South Korean K League. So the addition of another of the powerhouse leagues in Asia makes sense as SI look to expand their global reach.
The Egyptian Premier League is the most prestigious in Africa and so its a bit surprising it hasn't been in FM up until now (the only African nation we have had in the base game is that of South Africa) The 2 most successful clubs in CAF Champions League history are the 2 Cairo based powerhouses in Al-Ahly Sporting Club and Zamalek SC.
Staying in Northern Africa we have Morocco, the 2nd best league in Africa. A 4th placed finish in the 2022 world cup made people take notice as they topped a group of Canada, Croatia and Belgium, beating Spain and Portugal in the knockouts . The nation boasts strong clubs like Raja Casablanca (22 domestic trophies and 3 CAF CL) and Wydad (31 domestic trophies and 3 CAF CL)
The 3rd African nation rumoured to be added is Algeria. A legendary footballing nation with deep history that has produced some notable names in European football such as Riyad Mahrez, Ismaël Bennacer and Aïssa Mandi. The addition of this league is another to get excited about as we can now have more options in Africa in the Pentagon challenge.
The final rumoured nation to be added is Lithuania. A bit of a wildcard shout as there are other European leagues that are more prestigious than this. But with Latvia already in the game it made sense to try and add another Baltic nation into FM26.

There could also be Paraguay added, as the new FM Latin America twitter account uploaded an image with some bunch of flags of playable leagues in the game, but also added Paraguay in there
