You know that feeling when you’ve found the perfect signing, but you’re just a few million short of getting it over the line? No transfer budget left, wages are tight, and the board won’t budge.
Before you give up or start selling half your squad, there’s a simple little trick that can unlock some instant cash (and a lot of players completely miss it).
Check Your Clauses and Sell Them for Quick Cash
Head to the Transfers section and click on Clauses. This page shows you any sell-on percentages or future fees your club still holds from players you’ve previously sold.
On the side panel, if you see any figures with a currency symbol (£, €, or $), those are worth looking at. They represent money you’ll receive in the future if that player gets sold again or if he reaches a certain number of matches. The key is, you don’t have to wait.
Click on a player’s clause and you’ll see an option to Sell Clause. This lets you trade your future cut of the deal for an immediate payment.
Adjust the Budgets
Once you’ve sold the clauses, go back to the Transfers section and head to Overview screen. You’ll see your transfer budget increase straight away.
If you’re still struggling with wages, move the budget slider a little so you can shift some of the new transfer funds into the wage budget to make your deal work.
The Catch: You’ll Get Less Than Waiting
Here’s the trade-off. When you sell a clause, the game pays you less than what you’d probably receive if you waited for the clause to pay out naturally. It’s basically a “cash now” option. It’s great for quick funds, but you give up some long-term profit.
