With this Out-of-Possession role the Central Outlet Centre Forward is asked to avoid tracking back to help out the defenders behind him as much, instead looking to hold his position more in order to be in a dangerous position for a counter-attack when the ball turns over. Because he don't do as much defensive work, it's often important to ensure that the team have enough defensive cover in central areas behind them to account for this.

You’ll notice the Central Outlet Centre Forward will stay high up the pitch, avoiding defensive duties and holding position to be ready for counter-attacks. Provides little defensive tracking unless directly engaged and won’t press full-backs if no wide players are present.

  • Stays high to act as a counter outlet, minimal defensive work.
