Recent FM26 updates caused a bit of confusion when the live version moved forward while the beta branch was left behind, leaving many players unknowingly running an outdated build. If you’ve been switching between versions or aren’t sure which one you’re on, don’t worry because managing the FM26 Beta track in Steam is quick and straightforward once you know where to look.
This guide walks you through how to enable the Public Beta, how to return to the Normal version, and what to do each time you switch, such as reapplying the Real Name Fix. Follow the steps below to make sure you’re always on the version you actually want to play.
Public Beta Access:
- Close Steam
- Open Steam and Right-click FM26 in your Steam Library → Properties
- Betas → Beta Participation: choose public_beta - public_beta
- Download
- Don't forget to apply Real Name Fix again
- Play
“Normal” Access:
- Close Steam
- Open Steam and Right-click FM26 in your Steam Library → Properties
- Betas → Beta Participation: choose None
- Download
- Don't forget to apply Real Name Fix again
