Changing Ball on d'or Properties?

Any possibility to change logic behind golden ball? Can't understand why it works like that, for example your player of a top team got better average rating, got a bit less goals but more assists etc, and also win champions league and wc, but anyways golden ball goes to Haaland, is it fixable? Or how it works?
