After a couple of false starts on FM14, one due to the game crashing and the other down to well, I got bored with the save; I have at last set my mind to a challenge in which I believe I can re-immerse myself in.

A proud son of the Midlands I have decided to dedicate my efforts to helping the region rediscover it's winning ways, the only piece of major silverware to grace the mantel of a side from the Midlands within the last decade is the 2011 League cup, won by Birmingham City against Arsenal. However no midlanders have won the FA cup since Coventry's triumph over Tottenham in 1987, you have to go back to 1981 for the last top flight win in the region when Aston Villa lifted the old first division before going on to win the European Cup the following year, Villa's win over Bayern Munich as well as Nottingham Forest's back to back titles in 1979 and 1980 mean that Europe's elite competition has visited the Midlands three times.

My challenge is to begin with a Sunday league reputation and take on only Midlands clubs, attempting to achieve as much as possible whilst only being allowed to sign or renew the contracts of players hailing from the following counties;

Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire,Oxfordshire, Rutland, Staffordshire,Warwickshire, West Midlands Metropolitan District, Worcestershire

So that means that I'm allowed absolutely no smelly northerners or poncy southerners in my team, Any players that I start with, not born within the region, are allowed to play in matches but will NOT be given contract renewals (meaning that I will let them expire or sell them before the expiration date arrives).
There are no vacant jobs within the permitted counties at the moment so I will holiday through until one becomes available.

Yes, my first managerial appointment on my way to making the Midlands a powerhouse of world football, comes courtesy of Lincolnshire outfit Boston United. The Pilgrims, who were a football league club just six years ago, have started badly in the Skrill North this season and are looking nervously at dropping into the seventh tier of the English game unless something changes.

United have a half decent squad which I reckon I should be able to guide into a safe mid-table finish in this first season, there are several non-Midlands players in there though who will need to be sold or released before next season.

I Googled Jerry Nnamani, he is from London.

I wasted no time in bringing in a new assistant manager who I can trust for advice;

Hailing from Buxton in Derbyshire, Paul has spent his entire career abroad, managing Latvian sides Ventspils and Skonto as well as Russian Premiership club Rubin Kazan before his most recent role running the Kwara football academy in Nigeria.

Here's a quick look at the club itself;

Finances are reasonable with our bank balance just under the £100k mark, to ensure long term prosperity I must ensure we stay in the black as it is all to easy to slip into debt at this level.

Good idea with this, I'm not doing the same thing but I'm on the look out for players from Liverpool and the surrounding area for players for my Everton team.
