Score more. Rooney isn't the only striker at United, barely plays as a striker anymore! So 7 goals is fair in my opinion.

Cazorla and Mata are midfielders so it already makes it worse.

Aguero and Tevez are both part of a 4 striker team. They either play together, with a different striker next to one of them and sometimes even them two plus another striker. So 7 goals each when they are sharing them with at least one more striker is also good.

There is nothing wrong with Torres' goal output this season tbqf.

The problem is the sheer expectations on him because he cost £50m (mind you, this is something he had utterly no control over whatsoever, yet still continually used against him). Don't get me wrong, he should probably have a few more goals to his name, but he has improved from last season and is currently in good form. While Torres might have played more minutes compared to others, he isn't a striker that has had a huge amount of chances per game. He'd be lucky to get 1-3 chances a game. When this is the case, the pressure to score from those increases greatly.

If Torres scores 20+ goals this season, it's been a good season for him. The only thing he really needs to do more of that the others do is score more important goals, which he has lacked at times.
