10 games is a bit much, FA need to sort it's consistency out tbf, but hopefully he'll learn from it.

How has the FA been inconsistent if they've never had to deal with a player biting another player before?

Well they have with Defoe, plus giving racism less of a punishment than biting someone, as well as the whole difference in punishment between Terry and Suarez cases. At least they finally had some balls to handle such a punishment.

No, they never had to deal with Defoe. Completely different cases. Plus Suarez has a big rap sheet, especially when it comes to biting (1 previous incident is more than enough).

Saw a stat today, for every 4 games Suarez plays he is banned for 1

Yeah they never had to deal with Defoe because of a stupid rule, it's still inconsistency in punishing one and not the other, how's it different cases?

They were being completely consistent seeing as they followed the rules. How is racially abusing a player and biting a player different cases? Quite easily

I thought you meant different cases as in the Defoe and Suarez. Obviously racially abusing someone and biting someone is different, but surely racially abusing someone is worse? Also Suarez got 8 games without really bullet proof evidence, while Terry got away with 4 despite TV footage.

Racially abusing someone is worse than biting someone, but biting someone twice? If he was done for racially abusing someone again then obviously it'd be longer than 8 games.

Terry's wasn't bulletproof evidence either. It was pretty much said that Suarez got longer because he was persistent in his abuse whereas Terry was a one-off

7 games for this was probably enough. 10 seems excessive but then such an offence is hardly mainstream.

Also, Rodgers' latest statement is ridiculous. "They're punishing the man not the incident", fucking right they are, they're punishing the man who bit someone for the 2nd time

He got an eight game ban last season for racially abusing a player ffs. He has now gone and bit another player, he was always going to get a bigger penalty than what he got last season. Luis Suarez isn't a victim, he's 100% brought this on himself. Also he's already done this in another country, he clearly doesn't give a fuck, because if he really did he wouldn't have done it again in a huge game against Chelsea....

Suarez is in the wrong, Liverpool are in the wrong and for once in a blue moon the FA got it right.

To be fair, if Suarez wasn't a racist canibal, he would be getting banned much less...

All his own fault and can't see how anyone can defend him or say it's harsh. He got banned for 6/7 games for a first offence in Holland. This is his second offence, the ban needs to be significantly increased as he obviously hasn't learned from the first ban!

I've just seen Rodgers' interview and am completely dumbfounded by what he's said. Liverpool's response to the 10-game ban - bar their appeal, which is fair and expected - has been embarrassing. In my eyes, it only highlights the fact that their early condemnation of Suarez, their in-house fine and their swift apology after the game as a blatant PR attempt to come across well which, as I'm sure they would have hoped, would have seen the independent panel take some sympathy on Suarez.

Some of Rodgers' comments about South American players is borderline xenophobic. I'd understand speaking about the culture of Latin football when it comes to diving, for example, or sly tricks to earn free-kicks - but biting? What he's said about South American culture and biting, or any another attack on another player with the intent to do harm, is incredibly ignorant and it's just a pathetic excuse to justify Suarez's actions, even if he keeps repeating how disappointed he is with him. Actually, wait - he said Suarez hadn't let him down. Really? He's going to miss the end of this season and the first six of the next, and all because he committed a completely inexcusable act of thuggery for no reason whatsoever. Sure, you can dispute the ban, but if Suarez doesn't act like a cunt and doesn't try and bite Ivanovic none of this shit has to happen.

All of this talk about discrimination is complete horseshit as well. The FA are completely incompetent half of the time but Liverpool are really clutching at straws here. They have every right to appeal and to be upset with the ban, but at the same time they should tell their goalkeeper to shut the fuck up and their manager to stop spouting shit that only makes him come across as deluded.

Rant over.

Liverpool have got to be dealt with now. Any sane fan of the game can see the problem here and it is the cancer that is Liverpool FC. They backed racism to the hilt with visible shows of support and now they have done all of this.
