What the fuck was Sagna doing?
By Shola | Permalink | On 28 April 2013 - 15:38 PM
Well Pardew did put on two wingers at half time and Newcastle conceded four. And Newcastle had more possession than Liverpool. My point is the crowd are against the double pivot as a matter of principle. I can see why Pardew did it, to try and free Yohan Cabaye.

It says Liverpool had 54%-46% possession in their favour.

Enjoyable or not, a double pivot could've been done it if it was deployed correctly. The problem is that it wasn't as Pardew seems to think Cabaye can be played deeper than Perch, Sissoko and Tiote. All three of them could arguably be deployed behind Yohan and instead Cabaye was the deepest of the 4 like he was against Sunderland.

Given Pardew also seems to think Sissoko can play on the wing - fuck knows how that would've worked - it could've been easy to tell one of Perch or Tiote to play the defensive game they're better at, but neither did. If you're going to play a system like that, at least use it properly.

aye Sagna should've been off there, if there was any consistency. Dowd has been awful for both teams today though

Ridiculous yellow for Valencia that, no intent at all to handball

Yellow card for an accidental handball from Valencia and Sagna didn't even get penalised for a clear second yellow.

Oh Phil Dowd hahaha.

Good job we're champions already I guess.

Wenger could do worse than subbing Sagna now, really under-par.

The peno won't have done wonders for his confidence, but this is just ridiculous.

Pretty sure Dowd is just making the rules up as he goes along.

Also Sky's tendency to have really bias second commentators is really annoying, Alan Smith shouldn't do Arsenal games and Niall Quinn etc.. shouldn't do City/Sunderland ones, same for Neville and United

How hard is it to get impartial people?

Poldi off, Gervais on.

Podolski's looked really off the pace today, seems like the injury concerns may well be true.

Have any of Theo Walcott's corners actually resulted in a goal?

The first half's 'lets see who can get sent off quickest' competition seems to have turned into a 'who can do the shitest cross competition'

I'm going to say it again: Phil Dowd has been abysmal.

Dour, everyone was poor today - both sets of players and the refs.

We fucking threw it away.

I felt we should have won that in the end, but I suppose a point away at Arsenal is pretty good.

Mixed emotions. Should have put two or three past United in the first half hour, as that cunt was always going to score.

You lot better fucking show up against Chelsea now.

I think we'll do just that at Old Trafford.

I'd love to see Arsenal and Spurs make the top four at Chelsea's expense.

When did Rooney become so painfully average? He could get into our side at this rate.

Nah, I don't reckon he's even playing well enough for that at the minute.

He's always been capable of playing like he can't be arsed, forgetting that he has technical ability and generally being a waste of space, but usually you got one of those performances amongst 3-4 good ones. Recently it's just all been a bit shit.

Tired of Hernandez only being given 2 minutes every game, such a waste.
