Let's bring back Bale saga. Do you think he'll end up like Modric?

The Thiago deal looks pretty nailed on. Odds of 1/5 earlier, wasn't there?

I never take notice of odds, literally just go off rumours or if it's Sky, to fuel rumours on their website/channel.

Yeah, and if people pile money on then they'll change.

Odds are a reflection of news, not a news source themselves.

Someone makes up a rumour on twitter>people put money on it>odds lower>news gets out that the odds have lowered>more people put bets on>odds go even lower>more people put money on it>betting suspended>obviously transfer done.

Or more maliciously.

Sky sources 'understand'>people pile on money on the rumour Sky started.

How its not illegal for them to own a Sports news channel and a betting company I don't know.

Bild have reported that we've hijacked City's deal for Isco and he's set to join us.

It's not going to be true, but that would be hilarious.

We've agreed a deal for Luis Alberto, anyone know much about him? Nice to see us going for young cheaper talent again after Dalglish

United.

I'm pretty sure they just made a mistake and wrote Manchester United instead of City. It's more likely.

Higuain apparently agreed a deal with Arsenal.

I'm refusing to get too excited until the club officially announce it.

Yeah, I'm desperate for him to come. Giroud's dashing good looks can only hide his limitations as a striker for so long. We need a bonafide 25-goals-a-season man who can take us to the next level.

I'm more curious as to how this factors into Real Madrid's incoming transfers. Do you think this could be a pre-cursor to a massive move for Bale?

I would be absolutely delighted if the money we use to pay for Higuain is used to prize Bale away from Tottenham.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis claims Manchester City are not prepared to meet their £53.6m asking price for 26-year-old striker Edinson Cavani.

Cavani, who scored 38 goals last season, has been consistently linked with a big-money move.

But De Laurentiis, speaking at a press conference to unveil new manager Rafael Benitez, said: "Manchester City have not the money to pay for Cavani, they say, 'We don't pay that'.

"At this time, Real Madrid are the only club who have made a firm offer for Cavani."

Good old Spurs, spending money on a midfielder when they really need a top class striker.

They're like the antithesis of us.

Probably Parker will leave, he's been awful this season and he's already reaching an age. Spurs really lacked a playmaker last season.

Well, not awful. Just over-rated and unnecessary.

Not seen loads of Paulinho but isn't he similar to Sandro? Seems a bit silly.

Nah, during 2010/2011 he had a good season.

And Paulinho is a playmaker from what I understood.

And well deserved too, I mean just imagine how badly West Ham would have done if not for Parker that season?

I mean they might have finished bottom with a few less points than they did get.

He's just too limited, for me, to ever really be a useful asset for a team like Spurs

Yeah, he runs around a lot gets 'stuck in' and generally shows a lot of passion but he's a liability on the ball and pretty much a waste of a space in midfield because you can do a lot of his job as a discipline cohesive unit, rather than a reliance on him to run around a lot.

That's why he stood out at West Ham, really, because the team was so awful that he had a carte blanche to run around a lot and make tackles. You don't really need those fire fighter type players at the top of the game.
