Ive smoked for 19 years and had my last one Tuesday afternoon, not using any patches etc either. What made me stop was when someone at work said that one of his old mates had throat cancer (like that pic) and died of it. So i thought to myself, do i really wanna walk around with something like that growing on my neck, then eventually dying from a pretty horrible death. Or do i simply give up doing something that 9/10 i don't really enjoy and have a much healthier life ahead (i hope). There really is absolutely no benefit from smoking whatsoever, ive tried many times in the past to stop but this im not giving in no matter how hard it gets.

Not cigarettes but drink when we could get it, though it was often just a 6 pack in the park between a couple of us then trying to act sober when we went into the disco. Not sure why you 'pity my upbringing', pretty much everybody I know despite being from vastly different backgrounds in some cases, started experimenting with alcohol around 13/14.

Must be something unique to others. I didn't start drinking alcohol until I was 15, and to be honest, not sure how well my stomach and liver would cope with booze at 13. Then again, I live a tame, sheltered lifestyle. I've tried cannabis, but I didn't inhale, sort of thing.
