Fortunately, League 1 isn't a massive step up in quality. So, at least your strikers should keep banging them in.

Conference North to Conference isn't either, nor is Conference to League 2 once you're a professional club. I think the jump up in quality will come when I get promoted from League 1.

I still get £0 transfer budget and only about £16,000 a week on wages so I'm struggling to compete with the likes of Blackpool and Millwall at the top of League 1.

Drew 0-0 against Oldham in my first game then McKay scored against Rochdale for a 1-0 win. I've got an away trip to the Emirates in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup to bring in some money for me though, so that might help me out in January. I've still got a midfielder playing for me that I had in the Conference North that is dangerously out of his depth so I need a replacement.

When doing this, I've always found (like you said) that League 1 is the real shock to the system. By the time you get there, you're likely to have 5-6 big clubs dropped down for the championship who just dominate all. In the past it's often taken at least 2 seasons to get out of it, with Gateshead it took me 5 (relegation after season 2 and back up again)

About to start on a network game with a friend. I'm Bradford Park Avenue in Skrill North and he's playing in Skrill South as Gosport - we agreed to a maximum 15th place media prediction. Just met all the staff and players so will try and keep some kind of commentary going if and when I get chance.

Starting as a network game works well, that's how I'm doing it and we're in about 2021 now.

Only managed a few games last night but I'm 7th after five games. Won first three, before losing a seven-goal thriller 4-3 at Stalybridge and 0-2 at home to Oxford City - both of whom now sit above BPA in the table. My friend as Gosport is very much struggling in 21st with just two points from five games. Our previous games have started similarly though so I'm not getting carried away. Got loads of loan players in the end, it was really difficult at first since I'm a pretty crappy team with nothing to attract players except my Sunday league experience! Matthew Waters from Middlesbrough and Sean Williams from FC Halifax have proven most useful so far. Also got a couple of flops I gambled on but not paying wages so I'm not concerned as yet. Tried to get Kevin Tarbie from AFC Wimbledon but he said no and then Gosport came in for him and he went there!

My game should be delivered at some point today, I normally do this every year. Last year it was Luton from the Conf Prem to the Championship (with lowest Rep), I then took over Bristol City in the same league, took them up to the prem, then eventually won the Prem twice, Uefa Cup, Champions League, 2 FA Cups and a League Cup.

Wicked cool. I've just started as Bath City. 2 reasons, they are Bristol City's feeder club (and most of the squad are City rejects, and the other is that they are nicknamed The Romans and I err, study the Romans.

Got promoted to league two now, won the skrill prem with 107 points earnshaw got 47 goals some player down here this level, but i have lost him now he has gone to a irish side , clubs in major debt 1.7 m and i have only been given a wagebudget of 12k, only got 11 players on the books, tough life down here lol

Well I've not been able to get on FM for the last month or something like that and was still stuck in my first season. I'm not sure how I've managed to do it, i think it's by far my worst achievement but I've been sacked after falling into 8th with Luton. I'm struggling for a new job and trying my hardest not to lose motivation to carry on

I've just started a save with my all time favourite: Ebbsfleet. I've been playing with them in the last 3 FM games.

I have now reached the 12 october and i am sitting 4 points clear in the league and just bagged a 10-0 victory in the fa cup 3 kvalfication.
So i am flying high!

I am doing something similar with Dover Athletic. Promoted upto Skrill Premier in my first season, winning the title by 4 points on the last day of the season, and have just started season 2. Money is a real problem down at this level!
