Can you give a link to that source since the cut you made doesn't look very good to be honest.

I actually think that the one you provided is worse since he's not watching to the camera. I cut them both though so you can compare them yourself. Ieven tried to move his pupils so he'd be watching towards the camera and he ended up looking a psycho
And to be clear, this are both an image of the same person so pick the on you think is the better and have the other one as an alternative.

Rotated the cut and cleaned up the collar a bit.
And filled the small white area on his right shoulder. I know it's from the original image, but the way it's cut it just looks kinda weird on a bright background, almost like there was a part of his shirt missing. I hope you don't mind.
