After being inspired from reading Cleon's Ajax thread, I've decided to start this story. Arsenal have excellent youth facilities and are associated with nice passing football. I was a big fan of how Arsenal played during the Invincibles season and I am hoping create a tactic that plays similar football.

Board Expectations:
Play Possession Football
Play Attacking Football
Develop players using the Club's youth system

To achieve the above, I'll be a creating a set of tactics that plays possession and attacking football. These tactics will be used for all teams which include the reserves and U18s to instill the club's philosophy. I will bring promoting at least 3 youth players into the main team every two seasons.

Tactics and Pre-season to come next.

THE TACTICS
As I mentioned, the aim will be to build a universal philosophy for the club. All three teams (Senior, U21, U18) will play the same tactics.

The first of which will be the 4-1-2-2-1 formation. I may change the fluidity to balanced if I decide to change some of the player roles.

Second tactic will be a Pellegrini-esque 4-4-2 formation. I'm thinking of using the tall-short striker combination upfront.

Lastly is an Asymmetrical 4-2-31 formation.

I'm hoping that these tactics will give me the desired result. I may be trying this out in the future for Ozil. A Van Gaal 5-3-2 is also on my mind and I will try to implement that perhaps later in the save.

Great to see you going in depth about the tactics, looking forward to seeing how this progresses!

Can I ask you what skin you are using and where to get it from?

THE YOUTH
I'll be updating this as the seasons go by to show their progress. (hopefully)

Dan Crowley

Start of first Season:

First thing I did was to have him be tutored by Rosicky who has a good player personality. I will put him through a 3 month rotation of Passing, Off the Ball, Quickness and Stamina.

Gedion Zelalem

Zelalem will be tutored by fellow German, Mesut Ozil. I will also put him through a 3 month rotation of Passing, Off the Ball, Quickness and Stamina.

Serge Gnabry

Gnabry to be tutored by Theo Walcott. 3 month rotation of passing, crossing, off the ball and strength.

Callum Chambers

Chambers will be tutored by Mathieu Debuchy. 3 month rotation of positioning, quickness and stamina.

Isaac Hayden

Isaac Hayden will be tutored by Mathieu Flamini. 3 month rotation of passing, tackling, positioning, off the ball and strength.

Yaya Sanogo

Sanogo will be tutored by Olivier Giroud. 3 months rotation of positioning and finishing.

Damien Martinez

Martinez will be tutored by Szczesny. I put him on the Goalkeeper schedule.

Alex Chamberlain

I plan to have Walcott tutor Chamberlain in the future. For now, I have him on the Wingers schedule.

Jack Wilshere

Jack doesn't have any tutors for now. Box-to-box schedule.

Arsenal have signed Robert Pires as a coach for the U18 squad. Pires is no stranger to the Arsenal fans having made 189 appearances for the Gunners, winning the Barclays Premier League and FA Cup twice respectively. Pires was also part of the team that was dubbed "The Invincibles".

Arsenal have signed German left fullback, Marcel Schmelzer from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of 7.25M. Schmelzer will wear the number 29 jersey.

I'm pleased with how the pre-season fixtures went. The only blip came against Genk where I started with the 4-4-2 tactic. From the AIS match onwards, I experimented with a Van Gaal 5-3-2 tactic in the 2nd half that produced pretty nice football but I'm still not sure whether I will implement it as the season goes by. My team should be ready for the Community Shield against City.

A pretty even match was lost because of individual errors. Arteta and Ospina made mistakes which led to both of City's goals. Schmelzer managed to get a goal on his debut but it was a little too late for us. Not that bad of a result but I would have liked to start the season on a high note.

We have started the season in great fashion especially in the BPL. The opening fixture was against Crystal Palace where a Mariappa own goal and a goal from Walcott and Giroud saw us win 3-1. Champions League qualifier was up next against Standard Liege, Ozil scored a goal and Wilshere grabbed a brace. Giroud, Mertesacker and Chamberlain scored to give us a 3-0 win over Burnley in our first home match of the domestic season. We lost the second leg of the qualifier despite a man advantage after Standard's captain was sent off. Wilshere and Mertesacker goals saw us back to winning ways to cap off the month.

3 wins from 3 matches saw us top the BPL table at the end of August.

I also won the manager of the month award as a result.

Tough draws but we should be able to make it through if we play well.

Our U21 squad is currently second in the league while our U18 squad are leading the league.

My bad. It was actually set to Off the Ball. I got confused after making so many notes for the scheduled reminders.

As previously stated, I signed Marcel Schmelzer from Dortmund. I brought in Shinji Kagawa on loan from Man Utd on deadline day.

Several of the youth players go out on Loan. Most notable Joel Campbell is on loan at Roma. I sold Coquelin to Swansea. Diaby was let go on dateline day because he did not fit into my plans.

With the signing of Kagawa, I decided to try out a narrow 4-2-3-1 for the West Ham game. Wilshere grabbed the first goal which was followed an Adrian own goal, a Ozil brace and Giroud rounded off the 5-0 win, where Kagawa got an assist as well. We drew our first Champions League match against Ajax. Vermaelen, Ozil and Giroud all scored in our 3-1 win over Newcastle in which was quite a close game before Ozil scored. A comeback win over Man Utd was next where Vermaelen and Giroud scored after a very bad error which led to the Utd goal. A Sanchez hattrick completed the month on a high with a 3-1 win over West Brom. Sanchez had previously not scored since pre-season.

Another 3 wins means we have a 100% record and maintain our position at the top of the BPL.

3 awards this month. I grabbed the Manager of the Month award again, and Ozil and Chambers got the Player and Young Player award respectively.

We got Crystal Palace in the next round. Should be a straightforward contest.

[

Kagawa scored an injury time winner after Ibra equalised Giroud's early strike, to give us a 2-1 win over PSG. Sterling scored a goal after Koscielny's bad mistake which led to our first defeat in the league. We drew 1-1 against QPR where Podolski scored his first goal of the season. We then drew 0-0 against Celtic despite dominating the match. Mikel Arteta scored our only goal from a penalty in our 3-1 defeat to Man Utd. We defeated Crystal Palace in a narrow 1-0 win to advance to the quarters of the League Cup.

We have dropped down to third.

We drew West Ham in the quarter finals of the League Cup.

-

Both Squads have bettered their league positions. The U21s have climbed up to 3rd spot while the U18s have regained their top spot.

November was a better month for us. We were undefeated in all competitions. We started off the month with a 2-0 victory over Southampton where Giroud and Schmelzer scored. Walcott and Giroud gave us the lead but a 90+2min own goal from Mertesacker led to a disappointing 2-2 draw with Celtic. Next came another Sanchez hattrick and a Kagawa goal in a 4-0 victory over Swansea where they had no shots at all. Giroud and Wilshere scored to give us a 2-0 win over Hull which was followed by a good 3-0 victory over Ajax. Giroud, Flamini and Walcott scored against the dutch side. The month ended with a disappointing goalless draw at the Britannia.

Decent results have brought us to 2nd place just two points behind United.

-

The U21s have maintained their 3rd spot while the U18s have dropped to 5th which is quite concerning for me.
