Was surprised by Martinez' tactics, maybe not his initial tactics but his persistence with them. Lukaku on the right hand side against Moreno I suppose was for the height advantage and maybe strength but that left a massive gap up top and at times it was like Everton were playing a 4-6-0 formation. Was frustrating to watch. Everton fans feel the same?
Amazing how much has been made of Nolans offside goal, it was ever so slightly offside but was still the correct decision.

Still don't really rate Lukaku though.

The third game out of 6 that have been absolutely mangled by teams refusing to play football this season.

If there was no benefit to time wasting, then it would be reduced dramatically. Or reduce the game time slightly.
Stoke had several players go down with knocks, and the ball tended to take 30 seconds a time to be returned. A Stoke player either kicked or dribbled the ball away every time as well.
Football in its current state is just un-equiped to deal with such gamesmanship. A ref is never gonna send someone off for timewasting, or add on the equivalent time wasted. It's absolutely killing football.

So was the performance of most of those wearing it. Although bizarrely all the people I was watching it with in the pub liked it.
Yes, Stoke timewasted and kicked like hell - as they do - but when all your shots bar one 30ish yarder go off target, and the defence looks useless when pressure is applied, victory is never going to happen.
I guess now we'll see if Ashley was just joking...
Jason
You could of just made that post a whole lot shorter by saying the ref should of added on time until Newcastle scored.
They'd be still playing next week.

Nothing will change until one or both of these things happen
I sound like a broken record.

No. I'm not complaining about the result. It was fair enough.
I'm complaining about the timewasting.

We all sound like broken records. And so do media outlets claiming Pardew will be given one more chance, as Sky currently are.
Ashley looked thoroughly pissed off at the end of the game so I'm surprised that, as of right now, he is still in employment with NUFC.
Poe
We'll get relegated if something doesn't change.

VP.

And teams do to a different extent. Man City and Hull were winning against Newcastle and still played. Stoke, Palace and Villa just didn't. The ball was never in play.

Attacking tactics are all wrong.

This isn't about Newcastle. It's about football in general. Newcastle v Stoke was two poor quality sides - the game could have at least been entertaining.
Slashman X
Although, in fairness Tim Krul was/is notorious for wasting time at kickouts and the like

You're saying last nights game wasn't entertaining, yet campaigning for the game to last even longer.
Job done for our boys last night, pressure was on even at this early stage and we did what we had to. We failed to kill the game off and had the usual nervy last 15 minutes. The suggestions that we heavily time wasted are a bit daft, the only player who time wastes in our side is keeper Begovic, he's probably the worst in the league for taking his time over goal kicks but did none of that last night. We picked up a few injuries during the game through some pretty hefty challenges by your guys so it wasn't like players were going down feigning the injury to run down the clock.
I did however genuinely feel sorry for Newcastle fans after seeing it first hand last night. People who follow me on twitter know that I don't like Newcastle fans that much (best supporters in the league/we sell out everywhere/general arrogance), but I really did feel and understand your pain. Players played out of position, mismatches on the pitch and general lack of ideas that ultimately are Pardews fault.

How are Newcastle different from every other club who aren't Liverpool/ManCity/Chelsea/ManUtd/Arsenal?
What is it about Ashley that means him not ploughing his personal fortune into the club makes him such an evil owner. Where as Randy Lerner or Ellis Short get a bye?
Number 1
I can tolerate Ashley wanting to run the club on a sound financial footing, even if I do think we could have bought one or two more players in the summer without breaking the bank, and that he's currently getting the football part of the club wrong. But he has been unwanted and unloved since forcing Keegan out and being found in a court to be habitually lying to fans and press. That's six years of creating a hate figure out of a wealthy recluse who has (largely, although not so much recently) been staying away from games and slimming it all down as an exercise to reverse a negative image out of, and so far, not much has been done.
