Gabriel Batistuta

http://www.soccermaniak.com/images/batistuta.jpg

Gabriel Omar Batistuta (born 1 February 1969), nicknamed Batigol as well as El Ángel Gabriel (Spanish for Angel Gabriel), is a retired professional footballer. The prolific Argentine striker played most of his club football at Fiorentina in Italy, and is the eleventh top scorer of all-time in the Italian Serie A league, with 184 goals in 318 matches.

Clubs Played:
1988–1989 Newell's Old Boys
1989–1990 River Plate
1990–1991 Boca Juniors
1991–2000 Fiorentina
2000–2003 Roma
2003–2005 Al Arabi

Objectives as a coach:
In this save I want to follow the path of two Argentinian legends: Marcelo Bielsa and Diego Simeone. In order to do that I have the following objectives:
  • Implement a very high-pressing, high-tempo, offensive football at any team I manage (Bielsa)
  • Make my squad the most hard-working possible (Bielsa and Simeone)
  • Start my career at a traditional Argentinian team but that is currently facing many troubles (Bielsa and Simeone)
  • Later on become the manager of one of Argentina big five (Boca, River, San Lorenzo, Indepiendente and Racing) (Simeone)
  • Make my way to Europe and then start my own story.

Current Team
Racing Club de Avallaneda

So I've already started a few days before I created this here, so here is some info.

Transfers:
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-bovnKYiDNtQ/VF6ywhRw_XI/AAAAAAAAABE/bMBIwXUom1k/s800/Screen%2520Shot%25202014-11-08%2520at%25207.05.43%2520PM.png
First lets talk about the players that left. I had a lot of players over 23years old on my reserve squad that were not gonna serve me at all, they all had really cheap prices so I assigned my Director of Football to "Sell or Release". The players on Loan are some youngsters that I want to be getting some playing time and they might be part of the squad in a near future, specially Lucas Sosa which is a really good right-back only 18 years old.
We brought some good players in this season, specially Javier Chevantón. The Uruguayan experienced striker is our main player this year. The signings of Juan Fernandez and Lucas Longono were really good to, they will both by important players in the first team.

Key Players
Eduardo Dominguez - Captain of the team. Have been playing for Huracán since 2007 (with some comming and goings) and its the leader of the team
Lucas Villarruel - The heartbeat of the team, he is the player that makes everything happend as for transition, defense coverage and possession keeping.
Cristian Espinoza - The future of this team, really young (19 years old) but already a great player. Is a starter for the Argentinian U20 and is one of our main outlets at the right wing.
Patricio Toranzo - A experienced "number 10". Really technical and good on the ball. Is the player that give us the "final pass" on attacking movements.

Tactics:
As part of my objectives I've set a very high-pressing, high-tempo, offensive tactic.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-_3o2R8dOMfM/VF6yvCJTIzI/AAAAAAAAAAk/9EO1OCeP6Io/s512/Screen%2520Shot%25202014-11-08%2520at%25207.02.07%2520PM.png

In this tactic we focus on pressuring the opposition on their half without committing many fouls. When we have possession I demanded a very high speed of play with quick passes to our wingers or in the middle to Chevantón. I am currently having some trouble when the opposition makes it out of their half (either with a long ball or a foul), because there are a lot of open spaces.

Results so far:
Pre-Season - We had a solid pre-season, I liked the team development specially against big side Racing where we played really well and suffocated them
Regular-Season - We've played 9 games so far. After a really bad start we picked up and started to play well again. Big mention to the wins agains Indepiendente Rivadavia and Patronato, both away.
League Table - We are currently second on the league, 2 points behind top seater. Even though I have a game more than the third place, I think I should be able to keep my second place and hopefully move up to first.

Jorge Griffa

http://imagenes2.eitb.org/multimedia/images/2012/05/16/656758/656758_jorge-griffa_foto300x168.jpg

I've signed Jorge Griffa as my Head of Youth Development. Griffa is Marcelo Bielsa "father" in the world of football, he was the head of youth for Newell's Old Boys when Marcelo Bielsa started his coaching career and developed many players like Gerardo Martino, Maxi Rodriguez, Walter Samuel, Ever Banega and Gabriel Batistuta.

September

What a great month, we are now league leaders and been playing really well so far. We finished the month with a record of 3W-1T-0L.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-GQ5YUtsRRJs/VGAKtvTVjzI/AAAAAAAAAD0/ILtgsgi2qrI/s682/Screen%2520Shot%25202014-11-09%2520at%25207.33.49%2520PM.png

vs Santamarina - They are at the bottom of the table, with 20 minutes of game we were up 3-0 already and kept on pressing. In the beginning of the second half our center-back (Macinelli) got a red card, so I pushed the team back and just waited for the game to be over playing in a safer way.
vs Atlético Tucumán - Perfect game! We started really well scoring with 7 minutes of game and kept pressing. Their main outlet was their right winger, I was able to notice that only late in the half. We came back to the second half with a man-marking on their right wing and thats where they lost it all, we scored 5 goals on the second-half.

League Table

ps: I didn't put the other results of October because I had previously posted them in the other post.

October

Despite the loss to Crucero del Norte it was an around good month with 3 wins and 1 loss. We still top of the table, and as the tournament come to its final stages we got keep our level of performance in order to be promoted and win the title.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-3K5v-apftNw/VGBJThWCqlI/AAAAAAAAAEg/QVoBYUJInW4/s680/Screen%2520Shot%25202014-11-10%2520at%252012.12.06%2520AM.png

vs. All-Boys - Nerve racking game! Even tho they are in the bottom of the league I was expecting a hard game, they have a very fast team and thats the worse kind of team my tactic can face. 5 minutes in they were up 2-0, two corner kicks. We kept cool and the AMAZING Chevantón scored 3 goals in 10 minutes. After that was a coming and going of goals scored by both sides. I made the mistake of pushing back too much and they almost tied up in the last minutes, but fortunately we came back to Buenos Aires with the 3 points.
vs. Crucero del Norte - Every thing went wrong. Since the beginning we couldn't attack, they neutralized very well our wingers. After then sent off of my right back we actually got better in the game changing to a more centralized formation, but they caught us on a counter attack and killed the game.
vs. Indepiendente Rivadavia - Great playing by Huracán! They had way more possession (67%) then us but could not pass the midfield, they had 1 shot on goal against 17 from us! Really good showing on the philosophy I want to implement in my career, playing without the ball!
vs. Temperley - Good game, we had a rough beginning but were able to manage the REALLY small field (since we play a very wide game) they had and brought home more 3 points!

Primera Nacional B

A quick explanation to you guys about the format of the Nacional B, which is the second division of Argentina. The AFA made the decision to have 30 teams disputing the Premier Division in Argentina next year (15/16), so they divided the second division into 2 groups of 11 teams in which 5 teams go trough the Premier Division, making it 10 qualifiers.
So I was kind of lucky to be managing Huracán this season considering this format is only being applied in 14/15.

November

Huracán is back to the first division of the Argentinian league!!! The month was supposed to be a 5-0 record, but since we tried a new system we got a tie agains Patronato, but thats good enough!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jqntJ-490a8/VGFOEXvwd5I/AAAAAAAAAFM/s2ll-M-N8Z8/s695/Screen%2520Shot%25202014-11-10%2520at%25206.44.29%2520PM.png

vs. Unión de Santa Fé - Expected win! We had some trouble in the beginning of the second half but nothing major! Now we are one point away from promotion! Vamos Huracán!!!
vs. Sp. Belgrano - Huracán is back to the first division!!!! Very pride of my team! Belgrano literally parked the bus, but the LORD Chevantón found the net twice to clinch our promotion!
Sarmiento - Again we had no problem against the opposition, controlled the game and got another victory!
Santamarina - We opened 3-0 and were playing really well. Got really complacent tho (including my self) and they almost tied the game.
Patronato - I tested a new system in this game (3-4-3). Not the perfomance I was expecting, the pressure got much less intense and we lost a lot of movement.

2014 SEASON REVIEW

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Dun31g64P8U/VGFVLTsLGvI/AAAAAAAAAF8/JfciMH1j-T8/s200/88.png

Great season, as expected we clinched promotion and got Huracán back to a place they should never left. As a manager I am very proud, my philosophy was clear during the season as we scored 51 goals and only conceded 22.

Key Players:
Javier Chevantón (top scorer) - 17 goals, 3 assists, 17 games
Cristian Espinoza - 6 goals, 13 assists, 18 games
Patricio Torranzo - 7.27 AvR, 20 games
Lucas Villarruel - 7.28 AvR, 20 games
Eduardo Dominguez - 7.33 AvR, 17 games
Federico Mancinelli - 7.40 AvR, 19 games

2015 SEASON

Transfers

Agustin Pelletier - I was looking for a backup for Vilamara and I found this guy for free! Great signing, its definitely a player thats gonna start for the team.
Germán Pacheco - Really good player, will be like a 12th player since Gonzalo Martinez gets hurt A LOT.
Ivan Pillud - What a bargain, left back that came to take over the position!
Carlos Marinelli - Our current backup for Torranza (Favalli) asked to leave, so a brought in Marinelli which is actually a much better player.
Mauricio Sperdutti - Came as a backup for Espinoza but its a really good player. Now I have much more confidence in rotating the right wing.

Future Transfers:
I already secured the transfer of 4 players for next semester.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-LbA5w1VUeT4/VGLsnIxG7hI/AAAAAAAAAHY/KRuiUyRrm9U/s556/Screen%2520Shot%25202014-11-12%2520at%252012.09.56%2520AM.png

Goalkeepers: I almost signed two keepers, I am not 100% percent sure about Diaz but I decided to give him a chance!
Defence: With the sign of Burdisso for next semester I decided to give Dominguez his last breath as a Huracán starter! He is our captain and deserves that.
Midfield: Our best position, we are solid in every aspect.
Attack: I couldn't find anyone better then Chevantón that was worth spending money on. So let's stick with him and see what he can do in the Premier Division

I couldn't pass up this opportunity. We got him for really cheap and he is an excellent keeper, much much better than Diaz. Now we are more then well served. Even tho he is 33 I think we can count on him for more 2 or 3 years.

Good pre-season overall. The games against Corinthians (specially) and Fluminense we were dominated and could not play our game at all, but again they are top teams in Brasil, the game against Fluminense we converted our chances early in the game.

Good start of the season, but not great. Even tho we won 4 out of 5 it was against weak teams and we did not played so well. It made me realize that at the higher level we have to play with 3 in the back.
