The New Leagues...The New Challenge
Okay, so here we go, this is the most leagues I've had loaded at one time on this career and hopefully it'll allow me to keep track of other big clubs in other countries and open up a few more doors for me now. England is the only nation staying in whilst Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Ukraine have all now been loaded into the game to their bottom playable divisions.
*There are a bunch of jobs available but just the usual teams that have just been promoted to the playable tier, I will wait for a job I think.

Jobs Rejected...Then Job Accepted
Well its fair to say I've been a wanted man thi summer, no less than ten teams and countries came in for me to take charge however none really interested me. I still don't want the added pressure of taking on a national job so France, who came in for a second time for me, Spain, Italy, Russia USA, Portugal and The Netherlands were swiftly rejected. I also dismissed the chance of interviews from Championship sides Burnley, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers. However there was a job I accepted...
Yes! Back in management after over a year out of it and its off to Portugal I go as I take on the task of Benfica who aren't even doing too badly this season. Obviously I would of rather be in the lower leagues and work my way up but this is a great opportunity. This was the offer that tempted me after a good interview impressed the board.

Benfica - Here & Now 14th December 2034
And so with over a year out of a job, for the second time in three years, I've finally landed in Portugal and am ready to take on the challenge of taking Benfica back to the dizzy heights of the top of the league here. Obviously with it being the year of 2034 and in December, you can imagine a lot has happened since the start of this career, so heres a quick round up of their team, competition history and current league sitting.
To be fair the squad here looks pretty decent if you ask me. We are a little weak at the back and may need to try get rid of a few goalkeepers whilst also trying to bring in a new one to improve that area. Hopefully the team are ready to improve and in the right formation hopefully they gel to it quickly and are ready to go now.
Here is the current standings in the league as it approaches the halfway mark in the league. There are games in hand for teams all over the place in the league however if we can win ours we can close the gap on league leaders Sporting and hopefully jump from fifth up the table to really start challenging for this league title. We are still in both domestic cup competitions as well.
Benfica haven't won any of the European competitions since 2014 so it made sense to just start with showing you these competitions, the main four competitions in Portugal. Plenty of history over the years. The Primeira Liga has been won eleven times since the start at 2014, most recent in 2032 whilst they finished runners up last season and Third place the year before. The Taca de Portugal has been won also eleven times since 2014, again the most recent in 2032 whilst the last two seasons has seen them finish runners up. The Supertaca Candido de Oliveira (Super Cup) has been won fifteen times with the most recent earlier this year which saw them make it three on the bounce. Finally the Taca da LIga has been won nine times since the start of the career, most recently in 2033 whilst they finished runners up last season.

Benfica - December 2034
I didn't really have too long to prepare the team with tactics or formations before I had games to play here in Portugal. I would of been in charge for just two days before I'd face my first game in charge, but a little more on that later. The opening month of my time here in Portgual saw me face three games across three different competitions! What would my start be like?
Well, I can't complain at that, three games played, three competitions, three wins. The green dots look superb to kickstart my reign here at Portugal, mind you we didn't really have a challenging month and were heavily favorites for all three games of what we had left in December, we also bagged two clean sheets, that'll do!
My reign would begin at home, welcoming lower leagued opposition Aves and in the Taca de Portugal Fifth Round as we battled to a superb five nil victory. Maninho gave us the lead in half an hour before Franca netted twice in two minutes seeing us three up. A late goal for Venturini made it four nil before an own goal secured an easy passage to round six.
My first and only league game of December saw us welcome Pacos Ferreira and beat them two one. We had a superb first half as Veloso netted twice, first in the twelfth minute then his second sending us two nil up three minutes before the break. We conceded a second half goal but only a consolation.
We ended the month with a trip to Belenenses this time in the Taca de Liga Third Phase Group A. We won four nil. Franca netted a minute before the half hour mark to send us ahead. Veloso grabbed the second half as he bagged a hatrick, his second from the spot and his third in injury time.
No league table this month, we've moved up to third but seeming we only played once it seemed pointless.

Benfica - January 2035
Into the year 2035, the years continue to tick by whilst I continue to pick up trophies, after not being at a club this time last year its fair to say I've landed on my feet a year later as I celebrate the New Year in Portugal. It had been a confident start from my Benfica side, winning all three of my opening games in charge whilst conceding just one goal, could we continue that form in January or was it mearly a lucky start?
Check that out! Probably the best month I've ever produced and more than likely will ever produce! We faced seven games throughout January and won all seven whilst we also kept seven clean sheets!! Superb form from the side! Wins in three different competitions has really left this club in contention for trophies this season and morale on a high!
We began the New Year at home welcoming Leixoes and running to a four nil win in the league. Veloso netting after twenty minutes before three goals in the final fourteen minutes came from Nnanna, Gil and Paulinho to seal the win.
The game happened again three days later, this time in the Taca de Portgual Sixth Round and again we defeated Leixoes to nil, this time three nil with all three goals coming in the opening ten minutes. Cocada made it one nil in the first minute, Luiz made it two in nine before Gil netted a minute later.
Our only away game of the month saw us beat Freamunde two nil in the league. Veloso netted after the first minute before Franca made it two nil ten minutes before the break.
The Taca da Liga 3rd Phase saw us welcome Rio Ave and beat them two nil. Two second half strikes secured the win as Veloso and Gil both netted for us.
Back to league action we welcomed Penafiel and stuffed them four nil with our super form continuing. Fred set us up for the win, netting after just three minutes whilst Veloso netted eight side of the break to secure a three nil win.
We made it through the month without conceding or dropping points as we welcomed Olhanense in the Taca de Liga 3rd Phase and left it late but won one nil. Paulinho netted four minutes from time securing qualification to the next stage of the competition.
We are back in contention! That solid January month has seen us jump up to second place and trail league leaders Sporting by just five points whilst we also have two games in hand so a big chance to move to the top of the table! What a month and what a change this team are going through! Things are superb right now!

Benfica - February 2035
Well, what a month December was and then to follow that up with a September which saw us win all seven games we faced and not concede a single goal! It was fair to say confidence and morale in camp was sky high at Benfica right now and we began to dream of a brilliant second half of the season, could it be our year still despite their sloppy start, could their managerial change spark a comeback.
Well, still unbeaten this season since taking charge mid December, thats the good news, the bad news is we chucked away points come the end of February finishing with three draws on the bounce. In the seven games we faced we won four, drew three whilst conceding just twice, our defence is superb here!
We travelled to Guimaraes first off in February and claimed a two nil win. Venturini netting after ten minutes with Cocada making it two nil seven minutes before the break to seal the win as neither side struck in the second forty five.
A narrow one nil win saw us dispatch Freamunde in the Taca da Liga 3rd Phase and finish top of the group as Klayton netted the only goal of the game ten minutes after the restart.
Welcoming league leaders Sporting CP I knew we were in for a tough game, but we kept our strength and recorded what I think was our eleventh straight clean sheet here. Loureiro netted the only goal of the game seven minutes before the break.
Finally our defence was broken as we welcomed Porto in the Taca da Liga Semi Final and beat them with ease four one. Franca made it one nil in three minutes before Veloso made it two before the break. Second half Porto struck on but a Veloso penalty and Vrabec netting late on saw us easily head into the Final.
Then the draws came. We welcomed Porto for a second time in three days as we faced league action against them and played out a goalless draw.
Same case for the trip to Estoril, we dominated but neither side could score.
We then ended the month with a careless one all draw away at Olhanense after Luiz gave us the lead in the twenty second minute we carelessly threw it away to draw one a piece.
Annoyingly those draws at the end of February have cost us big time as we sit third now, two points behind Braga and five points behind league leaders Sporting CP despite beating them this month. However we do have a game in hand which if we win we can move up to second and close the gap on the leaders to just two points, thats the plan!

Benfica - March 2035
The form at the end of last month faultered a little however I still was unbeaten here in my time at Benfica, whilst I've only been here three of so months its still a record I'm looking to extend. Into March and we faced a six game month with games coming in the league and one of the cups, could we edge towards a second cup final?
And I'm still unbeaten in Portugal and at Benfica as March chucked us seven more games and thankfully, we went on to win all seven! I can't believe this is happening after some torrid times in the past, in Wales allbeit but still. We made light work of the league, notching up a few goals whilst winning the first leg of another Semi Final.
We began on the road facing Setubal where we edged out a narrow win. It looked set to be a landslide as Veloso gave us the lead in the first minute. We didn't score again but grabbed the three points.
In the First Leg of the Taca de Portugal Semi Final we travelled to Olhanense and beat them with ease. Two nil up in five minutes as Nnanna and Gil both found the net. Veloso then struck twice within a minute around the half hour mark. The host grabbed a consolation second half but in truth we could of won by more!
Another away game, this time to Gil Vicente and we battled to a five one victory. We initially went behind on the tenth minute before Maninho levelled eight minutes later and a single minute later Gil sent us two nil up. Veloso had one before the break before Gil grabbed a second and Franca also netted in the second half.
Our first home game of March saw us welcome Academica and we strolled to a six two win. Franca netted twice, Veloso netted a superb hatrick whilst Venturini also netted.
A three one win back on the road this time at Belenenses. Nnanna after nineteen minutes, Veloso made it two with just twenty minutes on the clock and Gil sent us three nil up in the thirty first before conceding in the second half.
We ended the month with our second home game of the month and second one nil win of the month as we welcomed Maritimo. Vrabec netted on the sixty fourth minute securing the points.
Consider this title race well and truly on Sporting! We are more than in this game now as we move to second place and level on points with the league leaders with just eight games remaining this season, our charge may be too late but with just four goals separating the two sides and me being unbeaten since joining Benfica, anything could yet happen!

Benfica - April 2035
Into April and we were flying this season but still some work to do this season. It would be a short but big month for us in the season as we faced a cup final and continued to pursue Sporting the league leaders as we tried to catch them this season.
A short month in Portugal was April as we faced just five games, another unbeaten four at least with us just waiting on the Taca da Liga Final, more on that later though. We picked up two wins and a draw in the league whilst reaching another Final in the Taca de Portugal as we claimed a second leg Semi Final win.
We began by welcoming Braga and running to a three one victory. Veloso the man of the match and on form as he netted a hatrick, the first two came in twenty three minutes, the second from the spot with his third nine minutes after the break.
We then faced the Taca de Portugal Semi Final second leg and claimed a two nil win over Olhanense to comfortably reach the final. An own goal in injury time sent the game our way before Vrabec secured it second half.
A trip to Pacos Ferreira saw us blow a one nil lead and end up drawing one a piece. Gil sent us ahead after twelve minutes before we conceded before the break.
Our final league game of the month came with us welcoming Nacional da Madeira where we ended the month in the league with a massive four one win. We were behind early on before Fred levelled four minutes before the break. Second half Veloso made it two one eleven minutes in whilst Vrabec struck twice in the final seventeen minutes.
The draw this month cost us once again as we still trail league leaders Sporting CP by two points and now a plus eight goal difference. We need to be superb in our final five games of the season whilst hoping Sporting drop at least two points but more than likely we will require them to drop three points! Its going to be a thriller! Good news is, all five of my last games are against side in ninth or lower.
Oh yeah, this happened! My first trophy in Portugal! We faced League Leaders Sporting CP in the Taca da Liga Final and ended up triumphing over them on penalties come the end! We trailed with sixteen minutes to go as Freitas gave Sporting CP the lead and it looked like we had lost. But in the ninetieth minute Gil netted and it went on to a shootout where we won 5-3!

Benfica - May 2035
Here it was, the final month of the league season and with nothing confirmed yet it was still all to play for. Braga and Porto still stood with an outside chance of claiming the league title, Sporting CP go into the final five games at the top though and the fate is in their own hands. We now try and catch them up and turn the table. With one cup Final won, we've also got another to compete for.
Another superb month in charge of Benfica, in fact, May was perfect again, we played our final five league games and battled away to five league wins, would that be enough for the league title though as Sporting CP have been superb all year and barely slipping up. We also faced Maritimo in the Taca de Portugal Final.
First up in May, a trip to Academica and a four two win. A bit topsy turvy but we eventually came out on top. Gil netted a hatrick in the opening thirty one minutes before Veloso netted in the second half to help steer us to victory. These would also be the last two goals we concede this season too.
We beat Estoril at home and battled to a three nil victory. Veloso struck first for us, sending us ahead just two minutes before the break. Cabecao made it two nil nine minutes into the second half whilst Mininho came off the bench to net late on in this game with his goal five minutes into injury time.
A trip to Leixoes saw us win one nil, Veloso netting just two minutes before the break.
The same scoreline was recorded when we welcomed Freamunde and won one nil.as Klayton won us the game twenty five minutes from time, we were poor here but done enough.
And we'd end the league with a fourth clean sheet on the bounce as we won two nil away at Penafiel. Gil got the game off to a flyer for us, netting after eight minutes whilst Franca made it two with our last league goal of the season, thirteen minutes before the break.
But would that form be enough to win the league...
Yes! It was! League champions!! Sporting CP slipped up to a draw in the second game of the month and lost their penultimate game of the year which put the title in our hands heading into the final game of the season which we kept our heads and won, seeing us win the league by just three points in a tight season. We lost just three times this season, conceded just twenty four.
I haven't lost a single game in Portugal so far, but now it was time for the second cup final...
Yes yes yes! The treble secured and three of the five trophies required in Portugal ticked off. Its fair to say its been a great season and we crowned it perfectly here with a five nil win against Maritimo in the Taca de Portugal Final. Veloso gave us the lead on the half hour mark with Vrabec quickly making it two nil. We had a third before the break as Nnanna scored from close range. Second half Cocada made it four nil three minutes from kick off whilst Klayton scored our final goal of the season with eighteen minutes to go, it was easy here!

Thanks Shedender, there are two trophies left here in Portugal, one I feel I can get at Benfica before leaving but we shall see.

Benfica - Supertaca candido de Oliveira 2035
At the end of the season the treble was secured but we still had one more trophy to try and win here at Benfica and it would be the Supertaca candido de Oliveira, otherwise known as the Super Cup. I was hopeful of our chances as we faced Maritimo, the side we beat comfortably in the cup final at the end of the season, could we replay that victory.
For the second time in a final we played Maritimo and beat them five nil! More than comfortable. We were ahead early on through Gil before he made it two nil in thirteen minutes. Gil went on to have a hatrick in twenty six minutes before Franca made it three nil five minutes before the break. We went on to win five nil as Fred scored for us.
And so as many of you would expect, it was time to leave Benfica. After just two hundred and forty one days in charge I have left my post here unbeaten! I saw my side play thirty five times and win thirty one, drawing the remaining four. I went on to see them score ninety one times and concede just fourteen on our way to three cup wins and a league title.

Declined Offers - 5th January 2036
Turned down the interview offers from these two Premier League teams, neither really have a shot at the Capital One Cup or the Community Shield any time soon and that means its pointless me taking charge really.
Then I had this offer, a massive offer to return to England! Chelsea are sitting fifteenth in the Premier League in January but with them already out the Capital One Cup and not likely to feature in the Community shield next season its highly unlikely I was going to take charge so another interview declined.
I continue the job hunt into 2036.
