Hello and welcome to what I hope will be my one and only career for FM15 as I target to travel around the World and win every trophy possible. Now I know that sounds ambitious, but many of you know I like to challenge myself, I know its probably not going to happen but I wish to scoop as many cups and league titles as possible, ticking off one country at a time. This will benefit me as I can load just one country at a time, keeping the game up to a good speed and hopefully letting me run through very quickly, especially the smaller countries with only one or two leagues.
I have tried this a couple of times, as some of you will know, with my best success getting to Denmark, ticking off six countries along the way. Still not sure which way I will run through the countries, in the past I've ran through Europe A-Z, this may be the case once again. There are fifty one countries to tick off altogether.
I'm still not sure how I'll go by ticking off the countries but I decided Austria will be more than a suitable starting place for such a good journey. As I already stated, I will only have one league loaded at a time until I believe I'm in a good position to secure all the trophies from that country then I'll add the next. This will be played with a large database which has nine thousand players loaded at the start. Five start computer performance and game speed whilst I've not added key staff, have added players to playable teams and then prevented any use of the in-game editor.

Meet The Manager
And now down to the important part of the story, the manager himself, who is going to take on such a big task of travelling not only Europe this time but the whole World. I've debated all the settings my manager could have and have finally come up with what I hope will be the best for the save and the story line.
And here he is 'Dan' is once again looking to take on the World and
hopefullybecome the best manager it has ever seen, topping as many Hall of Fames as possible and ticking off countless number of trophies, thats the plan anyway. First off, personal information. I'm a male of twenty two years old, born in Chard, Somerset with English nationality, whilst I follow Yeovil I'm a Liverpool fan at heart and despite once training with a Chelsea goalkeeping coach, I'm just a Sunday League footballer...and an injured one at that as we speak. Now onto the new aspects of the game, this year it would allowed you to pick your coaching badges alongside your experience. Now, in real life I have my FA Level One coaching badge, but for the games sake, we are starting from scratch, no coaching badges, no past experience, and you can see how this affects my stats, I'm starting right from the bottom, its going to be one long journey to get anywhere! (I've played through the BETA with these settings and been able to get a job, should the full game not allow me to land a job I'll edit them slightly)
Next Post: My first job (hopefully)...

My First Job
01 January 2015
So, I had touched down in Austria back in June 2014 and was living in some crappy area with not a lot going for it, earning a little bit of money from working in the local store but barely enough to put food on the table! And I was only buying it for myself! I had thrown my name around a little, declaring some interest in jobs and eventually it worked. On the first day of the New year, it looked to be the day my luck turned...
I had only attended this interview! Just the one and straight away I've gone and got a job offer, now it doesn't quite pay the thousands I dream about one day earning but its a start, every great manager needs to start somewhere, right? FC Liefering, a team in the second tier of Austrian football have approached me. The contract they offered me can be viewed here. But hey, over a thousand pounds a week, the board expect us to play direct football and make the most of set pieces as discussed in the original interview.
And so after signing a lot of paperwork,
skimming overnot even reading the terms and conditions to this deal, I was signed and had my first club to manage. I was the proud manager of FC Liefering, but I know what you're wondering, how badly are they doing if they've just taken me on, all will be revealed next.Next Post: FC Liefering - The Season So Far...

FC Liefering - The Season So Far
01 January 2015
Its fair to say its never going to be a pretty job looking at a clubs season so far when they've sacked a manager halfway through a season and taken on what can only be described as a 'rookie' with next to no past experience of football, apart from the odd game here and there and with no footballing qualifications, so, sit back and be ready to see what a tough job is on my hands now...
Possibly the most important image you guys are going to want to see in this update, the league table, and boy does it not make pretty reading, or viewing! FC Liefering, my new team, are rock bottom of the second tier in Austria with seventeen league games to go. They also sit six points from a relegation playoff spot and more worryingly nine points away from safety! The board want us to avoid relegation otherwise I'm out the door!
Here is the new team, however whilst it looks like there is potential in the squad it doesn't look like there is too much quality here and now especially not to write home about. We have a couple of defenders and midfielders who look like they are a tiny cut above the rest and deserve to be battling in the squad but the rest I'm quite unhappy with. However with the transfer window open and a small budget to play with, maybe I can make changes to that!
And the financial status of this club is about as pretty as the rest of it, we are in the red, over quarter of a million inside it to be a little more precise. So there won't be much spending this January. The board have given me eighty three thousand pounds to spend and made just two hundred and forty pounds available in wages for me, it could be a tough seventeen games left this season.

FC Liefering - Winter Break
January + February 2015
So it seems I've managed to be appointed at FC Liefering at the right time as they had stopped playing the competitive side of football for the winter, giving me time to assess the squad a little over the winter break. I had a little bit of money I could spend to if I found the right kind of player to join the club. There were plenty of friendlies to be played as well, hopefully a new tactic and new manager could fire some new motivation and determination into this squad of underachievers.
My only new addition over the winter break. Attacking midfielder and striker Guyon Fernandez joins us with the hope he can fire us to some sort of glory and really start banging the goals in almost immediately. I personally think the twenty eight year old Dutch striker will do a great job in this league if he gets the supply!
Well, the winter break on the pitch took a while to get going but I'm pleased with how we ended. We lost the first friendly which I took charge off and then the second, that being against top division side Austria Wien. We went on to win four of our next six friendlies, drawing the other two. The game that pleased me the most was coming back from two down at half time against Grasshoppers to win three two. Guyon Fernandez started well, netting a hatrick and then another one in the following game before getting injured.
That's one way to start your league campaign under a new manager. My first ever competitive game in charge saw me pull off a very surprising result. We welcomed league leaders SV Mattersburg and upset the odds when we grabbed a two nil win. The travelling side dominated but two goals just before the break coming from Savic then an own goal less than a minute later, helped seal a two nil victory.

FC Liefering - March 2015 Round Up
My first competitive game in charge had been just about perfect! I had not only grabbed a win on my debut in charge, but we had beaten the team at the top of the table, although it didn't budget us from the bottom of the league it had raised motivation and hopefully determination for us to really battle survival for the remainder of the season. Throughout March I took my FC Liefering side into another six matches.
Not quite the second game I wished for. SKN St. Polten were the side up next and on the road we weren't quite the team I saw play at home more recently. We went behind in the first minute which immediately set us back. A second before the break put us in dismal shape before we conceded a third in the second half.
Not pretty at all! Lets hope this isn't the way the remainder of the season is going to go after the way I started! Another away game, another poor showing. Tadic netted for SC Austria Lustenau early on before they went two up in injury time. Second half I thought we could of carved our way back into the game when Ripic netted but as we pushed, we got caught in injury time, conceding a third.
Back to winning ways as we returned home and look who hit a hatrick! Fernandez, returned from his injury and what a performance he put in against LASK Linz in the second half. We trailed after a nineteenth minute goal but after rollicking the team at half time, we thought back to pick up our second win from four as Fernandez hit a twenty two minute hatrick.
Back to back home games and back to back wins, in fact, this is the first time FC Liefering have won back to back games all season! SV Horn were hit by us early on as we took a two goal lead into the break. Brazilian midfielder Pires put us ahead before Roguljic made it two nil in injury time of the first half. We set up defensive in the second half and held out for the win.
This was a must win game as we travelled to TSV Hartberg, they were sitting just outside the relegation zone and we started the right way as we stunned the home crowd to silence when Dwamena broke his scoring duck in the twelfth minute to put us ahead. However Pranjic levelled for the host twelve minutes later and then put them ahead two minutes before the break. It looked like we had lost the game as we switched to overload and it came up trumps! Fernandez once again saving us with a goal nine minutes from time.
Another 'must win' game and this time we delivered, away from home we travelled to fellow relegation candidates Floridsdorfer AC and produced a thrilling second half to claim a three nil victory. After breaking his scoring duck last game, Dwamena made it two in as many games when he netted with half an hour to go to guide us into the lead. An own goal fifteen minutes from time truly swung the game in our favour before Fernandez grabbed his fifth goal in as many games since arriving to seal the three nil win.
We are unbeaten in four and off the bottom of the table! Although we aren't out of the relegation zone just yet, we've taken a big stride towards safety. We sit down in ninth with eleven league games remaining, just two points outside the playoff relegation spot whilst still seven points from being completely clear of the relegation zone!

FC Liefering - April 2015 Round Up
With my first full month in competitive action done and dusted it was time to move into April and hopefully continue the good run of form we've managed to built up. We were going into April with a four game unbeaten run and having won two on the bounce for the first time this season during March confidence in the squad seemed very high.
So we made it five unbeaten as we welcomed FC Wacker Innsbruck but again it wasn't quite convincing. We took the lead through Fernandez who continued his good form half an hour in. Second half Siller was sent off for the travelling side but we went on to miss the resulting penalty, however held on to the one nil win.
Six unbeaten but honestly, we probably deserved to lose this one! At home we welcomed SKN St. Polten, who beat us last month, but we held on to a strong one all draw here. Dwamena netted after just five minutes, getting over his missed penalty last month. Luxbacher netted two minutes before the break through the travellers whilst second half neither side broke the deadlock.
Well, it was bound to come to an end sooner rather than later, Kapfenberger SV 1919 were the side to end our six game unbeaten run as they beat us two nil at home. We conceded just before the break with an injury time goal which really demotivated the team. And second half it went from bad to worse as Wendler made it two nil for the host.
It appears we could be SV Mattersburg' bogey side! They were up into second position and once again we've sprung a surprise result on them, beating them at their own ground. We fell behind after seventeen minutes before Dwamena netted from the spot making it level, one a piece at half time. Second half Dwamena had his second goal of the game, putting us ahead before it looked like the host pulled a point out the bag when Taschner netted four minutes from time. Roguljic saved our bacon though as we came back to win in the eighty ninth minute!
Thirty games down, six to go and we have moved up a position once again! We now sit in the relegation playoff spot in eight place and just three points off SKN St. Polten in seventh with that being our aim now. We've also moved five points clear of ninth place TSV Hartberg which is helping us look closer and closer to safety this season!

Judging by that logo, it looks like you might have landed yourself a job with one of the Red Bull family of football clubs:
Hopefully next year they'll give you some of that sweet, sweet energy drinks money in the form of a decent transfer kitty and wage budget. Good luck for the rest of the season!

You would be correct Simoncoyne we are linked with FC Redbull Salzburg of Austria and RB Leipzig of Germany
FC Liefering - May 2015 Round Up
Here it was, the final month of the season, to date, things had gone very well, we've moved from bottom, tenth in the league and now sat in eighth but safety was far from secure! As we went into May we knew we still had to deliver something to stay up. We had just six games to save our season and position in the second tier of Austrian football, what would our fate be.
What a game! An eight goal thriller at home as we welcomed high flying SC Austria Lustenau. Fernandez gave us the lead in the fifteenth minute before the travelling side leveled, one a piece at half time. Second half Roguljic made it two one before Dwamena made it three one within twelve minutes of the second half. The travellers then pulled another back before Fernandezz made it four two Austria Lustenau had a third to bring it close again before Dwamena had his second and our fifth!
Ahhh! I felt if we wont this game, we would of been all but safe! But TSV Hartberg pulled a late goal back. Bradner made it one nil for us in the nineteenth minute which gave me hope of us dominating. But a goal sixteen minutes from time for the travelling side as they grabbed a point.
Next was a trip to a strong LASK Linz and we faced a tough time there, I think it could of been one of the biggest defeats I've faced to date! We were poor. Hammerer netted twice before the break for the host as well as Vujanovic netting one. Wieslinger tried to get us back in it with his goal before Templ put the game beyond doubt for the host.
Followed by another defeat! A nine goal thriller away at SV Horn which saw them grab a five four win! It was a topsy turvy game, we came back from two down to be two a piece as Ripic netted twice before the break. At half time SV Horn were three two up. Second half they quickly made it four two before an own goal and Fernandez made it four a piece! However as soon as Adjei was dismissed for a second booking for us we threw the game away as Grubeck netted the winner for SV Horn two minutes from the end.
Uh oh! Issues here now, four games on the bounce without a win as we blow a two nil lead here at home, against Floridsdorfer AC and ended up drawing two a piece. Fernandez netted in the eighteenth minute for us before adding a second seven minutes into the second half. But thats when the game turned, Gosweiner netted two for the travelling side including a final minute goal to steal a point from us.
And so we end the season with five games without a win as we fall to a second two all draw on the bounce, however more spirited we came back from two down this time. We were behind in eight minutes and two down eight minutes into the second half. However a Halilovic penalty eleven minutes from time followed up by Ripic netting three minutes from time saw us a grab a point before the host finished with ten men.
Yes! We've done it! We've survived in the second tier of Austrian football! We survived by six points in the end despite not picking up a win in our final five games and there is no playoff for us. I always thought we were going to be in it for finishing eighth, but apparently not! So onto next season I guess! Hopefully a better one for us!
