This is Leandro Cabrera:
Aside from being the Uruguayan Rory Delap, he's a decidedly average defender, yet his average rating makes him the best centre back in the world, with some distance.
To put the absurdity of his average rating into perspective:
Ronaldo just had one of the greatest goal-scoring seasons in history, and Cabrera still had a better rating. All of this made no sense at all, until I saw this:
Cabrera is playing as a regular central defender for me, yet he has almost 4 times as many key passes as a world class playmaker. The only explanation I can think of for that is that each of his long, flat throws is counted as a "key pass", which in turn would cause the ridiculous average rating.

I recommend it
Re-building a team that has fallen from glory is definitely one of the more rewarding ways to play FM. Only downside to my save with Zaragoza is that I'm more dependent on buying players than I'd really like, and to a lesser degree that I've probably had a little too much success too quickly.
