I loved him too. He could be a bit of a headcase sometimes but when his mind was actually on the game he was really very good. Hasn't had nearly enough playing time in the last couple of seasons so I can't blame him for going but I will miss him for sure.

Why are Utd so bad at selling players?

RVP, Nani and now Rafael all for 2-3m each.

The like of Robbie Brady and James Chester are going for about 8m.

Astronomical wages in most cases.

Not to mention the premium placed on English players.

Not going to even bother reading it. Didn't want to play for us, whatever, move on.

Club Brugge in the Champions League qualifier, should be able to progress.

Juan Mata (to Marca)

I have to say that the fans have been fantastic. The patience they have had in the good, but especially the bad moments is incredible. It really hits you when they keep going as if nothing bad has happened, even though we haven't had two good seasons. This is what makes English football so special, and this club in particular.

Can someone explain to me why Jamie Jackson has decided to write a book?

He's lucky to hold down a job as a journalist as it is, but surely he doesn't want to highlight how bad a writer he is?

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/10/manchester-united-post-sir-alex-ferguson-david-moyes

It's absolute garbage, an entire extract of filler dressed up in ridiculously verbose nonsense. And he wants £19 for it.

Oh god. His writing is horrible enough, what possessed him to write a book? That's the last thing the world needs. Thank fuck there isn't a foreword by Duncan Castles.

I don't see the point of writing a book with the words 'in the shadow of Sir Alex Ferguson' in the title when there has only been two seasons without him. To make the book more exciting, surely you'd hold off a couple more years at least to see how the club does in the long term? If we won the treble in the next two years or finished 20th then it'd surely add a bit more depth to the 'post Fergie years'?

TL : DR what is the point?

He clearly thinks he's a good writer which is the problem. It reads exactly like my GCSE essays, just sentence after sentence of fluff muddying the actual point you're trying to make.

I mean take this shit:

"The Cut Bar & Grill in downtown Sydney is a high-end restaurant for the movers and shakers who pass through the city. And for the wannabe movers and shakers who pass through the city. What the difference is, who knows … It is a quasi-kind of place. No one really has fun in here. They only think they do. All the fun is happening elsewhere. The place has soft lights and soft sounds and seems always to have been at this point now, approaching 8pm, the evening about to move from quietude to a rising murmur in anticipation of something that never arrives. It’s what this – all these – places are about."

First of all, what? Second of all, what does any of that have to do with what you're writing about which is apparently a book on Manchester United?

The basic premise of the book is interesting, and given a few more years distance, some proper research and some candid interviews with the people involved it would be well worth reading, but what he's put on public display there is worthy of ridicule.

Wow thats terrible. Short sentence after short sentence. It gets annoying. Quickly. He should try using a comma. Or perhaps stop talking crap. And you shouldn't start sentences with the word "And".

Nervous ahead of the Swansea game. Be great to pick up three points with Chelsea and Liverpool losing yesterday. Hopefully we're more confident after the midweek victory over Club Brugge. Hoping Herrera gets a start, considering Januzaj is out injured.

Not really. United gave him a chance to rehabilitate from a serious injury, then gave him an 18 month contract with him fully aware he was a backup, but then he acted like a dick refusing to play in the reserves.

I've read he wants to make amends with LvG, which would be nice to see. But I doubt it, he's shown a lack of respect to the club.

LvG said quite a few interesting things last night:

- Wilson has gone out to a Championship club on loan with an option to recall.
- Said that Giggs will be the next manager.
- Pereira will step into Adnan's spot, Lingard to play a part this season.
- Memphis and Martial bought in mind for Giggs' squad
- Expects 2nd/3rd this season, expects to be competitive in all competitions and expects to win the league next season.
