if i wanted to change another players contract via the editor it says merge with database or save. so if i merged the change with the latest soirtioutsi database would it corrupt that datebase or wouldd it merge it and show in game
im trying to do it into the editor then put it in game myself so would i need to just save it so iv got my own file and click to activate that or can i merge it to the dataupdate file iv downloaded n put in my editor date file.
@conway970 the site displays the real life dates to try and stop people getting confused. If we asked people to submit modified dates some people would and some wouldn't and it would become a mess. So we show real dates and then the system modifies it for the fmf/xml files behind the scenes.
If you were to try making a submission yourself you'd see the very first instruction says the following:
Please add all REAL DATES. Do not try and modify dates based on the game start date, the system will do that itself.

It works with the custom start date/real fixtures but the dates are all adjusted if you check Arnie Slott will have a contract until 2026 even though his real life contract is until 2027.
Our data update is designed to work from the start date of the game e.g. 2023, that means all years are adjusted by -1.
That means Timo Werner has a 1 year loan deal to make it realistic because from now he only has a 1 year loan.
Mbappe has a contract until 2028 because in real life his contract is 5 years and setting it to 2029 would make it 6 years.
Arnie Slott is at Liverpool with a contract until 2026 again because in real life he has a 3 year contract so it's set to 3 years after the game starts.
Think about it this way, if Marcus Rashford joined Tottenham on loan now you wouldn't want to have Werner for 2 years and Rashford for 1 year, that doesn't make sense, you want them both on loan for 1 year because that's what's true in real life, so both would have a 1 year loan.

the dataup date works with the rwal fixtures as i put the real fixtures in with the datauodate and klopp is out slott is in and few other transfers have worked with it.

the change to his contract on the submission below shows his contract ending 2025 now but in game it still ends 2024 when it shoukd end 2025
