Footballer in jail?

What happens if a player is currently in jail waiting sentence? Even though he's still in the database (he's technically not retired and still has a club), at this point he hasn't played for almost a year and could receive a sentence of 3 to 10 years more. I'm guessing he'll be in the game until he runs out of contract/gets fired but I was wondering if anything similar has happened before.

The player I'm talking about is Joao Maleck (Santos Laguna, previously on loan at Porto B and Sevilla Atlético).

There's an option for researchers to set players as not for extraction. Essentially, he's hidden. This way, if he is contracted by a club at some point in the future, he can be set for extraction instead of having to be recreated. Most probably this is what'll happen to him in the game.
