2025 Season

Introduction to the Club

I had pretty much already decided that I wanted to switch countries after wanting to switch clubs so that's what I did. Before I accepted the job offer I did think about if I should try to win the community shield before accepting but I chose to not do that.

Kuala Lumpur is a team with not so much sucess with their only 2 trophies in the 2000's was a cup win in 2021 and a Tier 2 league win in 2017. They had finished 6th in the league the season prior.

A really dissapointing exist against a team in the second tier to start of this season.

We had a bit of a rough patch in the middle of the season which Sabah took advantage of and won the entire league. We just didn't perform when we needed and when we had no pressure we smashed it out of the park. This result sees us qualify for AFC Cup Playoff as long as Sabah doesn't drop down.

Our second cup exist in the form of a group stage this time. We played really bad and we honestly don't deserve going through but it's still dissapointing that we couldn't even get a win against Kinabalu or Malaysian Uni who both are not in the top tier of Malaysian football.

A bit dissapointed in the squad as they didn't perform as well as I wanted them to. In the games where we didn't score 2 or 3+ goals I thought we where lucky to not lose the game. Not a lot of transfer activity but that's changing next season as some of the players contracts are expiring and I'm not looking to renew them.

Manager Thoughts

In general a dissapointing season. We went out in the cup to teams we should have easily beat and we played pretty bad overall. 2nd place in the league is not that bad I guess but I'm mad at the way we played towards the end where we couldn't even get a win against the last place team. My plan for the next season will be to rebuild the squad a bit, hopefully do well in the cups and win the league and the best case scenario would be winning the 2027 AFC Cup which would guarantee a promotion to AFC5 as long as we win the league next season.

Season 2024

Singapore Charity Shield

image.png.0ac4fcc41f1a926ba9f383f8c9d7a3ca.png

Looking back at it this, I think this loss could have been avoidable considering that one of the obligatory U23 players in my squad was a half silver star goalkeeper which is probably the most important role on the pitch. So it was rather stupid of me to keep him in the squad when I could have put another U23 with the same ability anywhere else on the pitch and probably won the match.

S League

The league was really easy to win seeing us only losing one match in the whole campaign. +50 points

Singapore Cup

The group stage was no problem getting through but it was a frustrating and dissapointing loss in semi finals against the team that came last in the league.

AFC Champions League

An amazing group stage by us but we unfortunately missed out on knockout stages by losing the last match.

Only bad thing I can say about my spending activity this season is the amount that we spent on some players but I still wouldn't say it was that bad as they were really good and all players made the starting 11 for the whole season.

image.thumb.png.e85d6019525717bb20d59e594be37a94.png

George Attram might be the best player I have ever seen in Football Manager. Last season he got 26 goals in 26 matches which was amazing back then but this season he nearly dubbles his amount of goals with 46 goals in 33 matches. He dominated the league with 31 goals with the number 2 goal scorer only having 14 goals. I don't know what I would have done without him these 2 last seasons.

Manager Thoughts

I planned this to be my last season with this club with the and now that it's over I feel like it's time to follow through with the plans. Right now there are no teams available for management but when there are I will apply for them. I might play a bit of the season if nothing becomes available but it won't be a full season thing. I had a very good time and I will miss players like George Attram, Shôdai Nishikawa and Esteban Barreto whom were all a big reason behind the sucess of this club.

Season 2023

Singapore Premier League

It was quite easy taking our first league title with this team, although there was some doubt when I had 5 losses in 7 matches in the middle of the season. But aside from that we pretty much outperformed the whole league and was able to secure the title with one game in hand. +100 points

Singapore Cup

We went through the cup with no problem and pretty much demolished any team coming our way. +50 points

AFC Cup

In the last post I said that we had qualified for AFC Cup playoff but when the playoffs came around we didn't play in them. My conclusion is that it's a bug that told us that we had qualified when we in fact didn't. I started in the beta version so I know that bugs exist but I really don't hope that I will get more bugs that could potentially be gamebreaking as I'm really starting to like this save.

Squad and Transfers

I would say that this season I made both terrible transfers and some good ones. The Terrible ones would be Eder Garcia and Andriantono Oriza as I was fully aware of the nations registration laws with only being able to register 4 foreign players and still I signed them when I already had 4 foreign players. I'm not fully proud of spending 30k on Yazid. The reasons are that I firstly could have probably found a better player for free and secondly that the finances in the club is pretty shit. He played good though so that's nice. Then we move to Shah Shahiran and George Attram. Both players were great during the season, especially Attram as he is one of the only reasons why I got this far this season with his 1 goal per match average.

Manager Thoughts

I can honestly only take positives away from this season as we won everything we could have won. Next season we have new competitions such as the Community Shield and the AFC Champions League to challenge for. The Community Shield is going to be easy but I'm not going to say the same for the Champions League which we probably won't even get out of the group stage from. I feel like the next season is probably going to be the last with me managing The Jaguars as the points for winning competitions won't be as high if we keep winning them.

Introduction to the Club

image.png.8ad2601a31ad40cb082d9f0c36479eba.png

It took a long time before a team was available but when one became I took it. We took over Tanjong Pagar in Singapore, whom were at the bottom of the league when I joined the club with a really bad match record. They were predicted 4th in the league.

Singapore Premier League

image.png.8c079abf0f007d0ffde3b64d864b4164.png

We started the league with our team at the bottom of the league with the team only having 2 wins and 1 draw in 8 matches before me joining. As soon as I joined the luck turned around and instead of only getting 2 wins in 8 matches we managed to record only 2 losses in 13 matches. Unfortunately, one of the losses were against Balestier in the penultimate match of the season which if we won we would have landed a 3rd place and a playoff place in the AFC Cup (Asian version of the Europa League) the next season.

image.png.d4aac44d391653a728437a2b60ad2c38.png

After the league season was over we directly started playing in the Singapore Cup. In the cup we were only able to get 2 wins, one against a team who is in a division under us and one against Tampines in the Third Place playoff. The club who won the cup was LC Sailors and thanks to them we actually got a AFC Cup playoff place!

Although the list of transfers is so long that I can't even see everyone in one single screenshot, the only one I was involved in was the 4,5 star goalkeeper Esteban Baretto from Colombia on a free transfer.

Manager Thoughts

We came in and took the team from when they where struggling the most in last place to 4th in the league with a really good form so that I can't really be dissapointed by. Kinda wish we that we didn't have to rely on another team to get into the AFC Cup but we got there in the end so can't be mad there either. Overall, I'm optimistic about what I can do with the club in the next 1 or 2 seasons and I really look forward to it. The important thing now is also to be able to get coaching badges and build up reputation.

Ruleset

How do you get points?

You get points by winning trophies plain and simple. Depending on the trophy they are worth different amounts. The following is a guide of what each trophy is worth

  • Top Division Domestic League title (100 points)
  • Top Domestic Cup (50 points)
  • Any other Domestic Cup (30 points)
  • Top Continental Cup (500 points)
  • Secondary Continental Cup (200 points)
  • Any other Continental Cup (50 points)

If there is any confusion as to what the main cup is, then I will just make a call at the start as to what the top trophy is, if I cannot verify it within the game.

Can you lose points?

Yes, you can lose points. There are two ways to lose points as below:-

  • Being relegated at any time at a club or leaving a club for any reason at a time when you are in the relegation places (-50 points)
  • Being sacked or resigning under pressure i.e. if there are comments in the media that I will be sacked then if I resigned it will be treated as a sacking (-100 points)
  •

Any more rules around the points?

Yes, and this is a key point. The first time you win a trophy with a club, you receive 100 per cent of the available points as stated above. However the second time that we manage to win it in the same trophy with the same club, the points are then halved, and it will continue to half for every time we win that follows.

So to give an example, let says that I am managing Liverpool and I win the English Premier League and English League Cup, I would receive 100 points for the league and 30 points for the League Cup. If in the second season I won the English Premier League, the FA Cup and The English League Cup, then we would get 50 points for the league, 50 points for the FA Cup and 15 points for the League Cup. If in the third season we won the English Premier League again, then it would only be worth 25 points.

So as you can see we will be incentivized to plan our route through each stage and move on when it makes sense to do so.

There is an exception to the halving of points. All continental competitions are never halved, even if we win it with the same team multiple times.

How many points are required to get through a stage?

There are two types of stage. The first are the normal stages whereby there are normally 3 or 4 nations loaded for the stage and we can pick a club at any of them. In these stages we need to win 500 points, to advance to the next stage.

In Golden stages, which are normally at the end of the continent and will only have one country available we will need to win 1,500 points to get through the stage.

In the diagram below, normal stages are in a variety of colours related to the continent they are part of. Golden stages are have a golden glow and have a gold inlay line around them on the diagram and should be easily identifiable.

Who is the manager you will be using?

The manager will be from a random nationality. I will use a random number generator to give me the nationality. The manager must then start with no coaching badges and Sunday League experience. So I still don't know who my avatar will be.

How often will you be providing updates?

As you can see from the diagram, this is a major challenge, that will last at least a few hundred years if I get anywhere near the middle or end of it. So each update will be a seasonal update, and focus mostly on results rather than players, since there will be many many different clubs. The other time I will update is when we switch clubs, and that will let you know the results at the last club before we moved.

Where do we start?

We start at AFC6 at the bottom of the diagram which is Malaysia or Singapore, and will have to work our way up through each stage.

Where is the Diagram?
