I'd say that it was worthy of a booking at least and needless given he'd already won us a free kick but Larsson deserved red for going Nigel de Jong on Ameobi's chest and a handball in the box (albiet not as bad as the one he got away with last season).

Next 45 should be interesting - so far Sunderland have not really given us too much trouble.

Rooney has now scored at both ends.

Certainly doing better than City, who have had Milner sent off.

I'm aware of other incidents - Sunderland fans have previously got on the pitch to confront Shay Given and then push over Steve Harper in previous Tyne-Wear Derby games, for instance.

But it seems to be one hell of a bad tempered match all round. Certainly, if this is true, Leeds fans singing songs about Jimmy Saville and Munich does not exactly make the fanbase sound charming (yes I'm aware SWFC fans were singing about Istanbul stabbings - that's not that tasteful either).

It's a question really of just what is our best system if the two Dembas are incapable of playing alongside each other, although we did play better with Hatem Ben Arfa in a more forward position then a conventional right midfielder.

Aye there's a photo from 2004 when Huth was shown stamping on Alan Shearer's bollocks, so it's not like it's a recent thing. Got away with that as well I think.

All good but none of them top Andy Carroll at Newcastle-Liverpool last season - that dive is in a class of its own.

In all seriousness it seems cynical a lot of teams would rather win penalties or get players sent off rather than actually scoring. Suarez's dive was spectacular (although in fairness Huth did use him as a doormat) and that sort of thing is just insane. Although it says a lot for Liverpool's start that that was the biggest incident of the game.

According to a report, Wonga.com are in talks to sign a shirt/stadium deal.

As much as having SportsDirect sponsor our stadium is a bit much, I would rather have them on our shirts than that bunch of wankers.

Well, argument or not, he's gone anyway.

Venky's can't crap out again with their appointments again can they?

You appear to be under the impression that Venky's know what they're doing/understand even the basics of football.

I'll be glad for Blackburn if they actually get a proper manager in; Venky's are bad but they wouldn't be anywhere near as bad with a good manager.

Of course Venky's know little about football - if they did, they would have known £5M was not a budget for a top 4 team and they would've sacked Kean at any point until the start of this pre-season or better yet, not appointed him in the first place. His management of them in the Premiership was a fucking joke and they should have not been relegated.

But it seems faintly bizarre that they are currently in the top three (top two if Blackpool lose), just two points from his supposed target and still not good enough.

Wouldn't be too surprising if he still took training despite the setback of being sacked, mind...

Online buzz seems to be that Steve Kean has ran out of time as Blackburn boss. Why? How is second in the Championship not good enough?

I know he was an utter shambles in charge of Blackburn last-season but surely the time to offload him would've been then.

That minute when Glen Johnson took out Agger and then conceded the penalty was possibly one of the worst any footballer has had this season.
