As hosts of Euro 2024 we qualify automatically and that meant playing a few friendlies. We easily beat Ghana before falling to a shock defeat at the hands of Nigeria. 4 clean sheets in a row following that mini disaster yielded 3 wins and 1 draw. Our next outing is against Tunisia in March before the draw for the group stages of Euro 2024 is made.

Was about to post this, obsessed with the song since the release of Fast 7!

It's a great tune.

Reminds me of my mate who died last year in a motorbike accident.

My ankle healing up, some bad bruising but can slowly put some weight on it.
For the knee, I have no idea, got an MRI on Sunday so hopefully will find out something. I can straighten, put weight on it and bend it to about 90 degrees after that it's not letting me and feels like something stretching. Hoping it's no ligament damage

Does your knee feel like giving way when you walk or go up stairs??

lol I had an appoitnment a week ago, the doctor was clueless. Told me my MRI scan I'm waiting on hasn't even been booked in, when I got home I had a letter that I had one next week..

Well that sounds like a right ball ache. How's the leg anyway?

My surgeon is the head of orthopaedics for the biggest hospital in the state I live in so I'm in good hands and to be honest after two weeks my knee's in great knick. No swelling, fuck all pain and most the bruising is long gone. Was insane seeing them take out the old hamstring graft and put in the patellar tendon graft on the video he showed me.

I'm not injured all the time though

Between my first acl reconstruction and rupturing my achilles it was like 6-7 years.

EDIT: I'm convinced I only tore my cruciate again because I was unfit following the achilles surgery and was playing like 3-4 games of indoor football on a weekend. To much for someone weighing about 100kg!!

Had my 2 week post op appointment today. The surgeon is pretty happy with things so far. Finally got the annoying staples out, they were such a pain in the arse, delighted they're fucking out. I've now got 5 screws in my knee after the surgeon cracked my patellar getting the tendon out for the new graft. Another 4 weeks to go on crutches with a brace until I see them. Was awesome to see video of them taking the old graft, which was completely fucked, out of my knee and placing the new graft in.

It's been a really long time since I suffered a defeat and this really does sting. To lose a final on home soil in such a close game is always an unpleasant experience and on another day it would be us and not Germany holding aloft the Nations League crown. We were edging the game before they got their penalty and when Thomas Muller accurately despatched from 12 yards it was always going to be tough to get back into the game. Unfortunately we were slack after the restart and Germany took full advantage as they doubled their lead and despite a long range wonder goal from Ballon d'Or winner Suso with 10 minutes remaining we couldn't find an equaliser to force extra time.

As I expected we just about beat Holland in what was a tight contest. We dominated possession as you can see, but didn't create a clear cut chance until Diego Costa scored just two minutes after his introduction. That goal will probably earn him a start in the final. This result means we've qualified for the Nations League final for their third consecutive time and for what it's worth there's only been three editions of the Nations League. In the final we'll take on Germany who will provide the toughest task I've probably faced yet. They've a world class squad with no real weak links so I'm prepared for a tough game and it could potentially go all the way to penalties.

Good results, but surprise you needed an own goal to beat Iran

I was surprised as well that we only beat them 1-0.

We absolutely battered them and we should have scored much more.

Two wins from two and we head into the Holland game in June full of confidence.

I've been in charge for 24 games as La Roja boss and we remain unbeaten winning 21 of those 24 games in the process. In those games we've scored an impressive 60 goals and conceded just 9 times. When we face Holland I think we'll dominate possession, but only just beat them on the night maybe winning 1-0 or 2-1.

So I've made the decision to remain as La Roja manager for the foreseeable future. The 2024 European Championships takes place on home soil so it was definitely something that influenced my decision. The chance to win the biggest prize on offer in European international football in Spain would be pretty magical and that's what we'll work towards over the next 18 months. I have to say 2022 was a fantastic year for me personally and for Spanish football after our World Cup triumph in Qatar and our Nations League performance. We topped our group as expected, but comfortably beating Croatia and Denmark in both games with real swagger probably shocked a few people. We should have scored many more against Iran, but they somehow kept us out for the majority of the game.

A semi final date with 2020 European Championship winners Holland awaits next June in Valencia. Personally I think we're good enough to beat the Dutch and I'll be disappointed if we're not contesting the final against Germany or Italy. We'll face Japan and Montenegro in friendlies in March as final preparation for the clash with Holland.

13-12 on penalties in the World Cup final. Got to be the longest shootout in a final ever!

Did Muniain get the golden boot?

Felt like it went on forever and I don't think I'd any nails left at the end of it

Nah some German lad got it scoring 7 goals in 5 appearances, but De Gea did get the golden glove though

Very intense final But glad you came out as winners!

One of those on the edge of your seat games to be honest.

Delighted we managed to win in the end.

As I predicted it went all the way to penalties against Brazil and thankfully we prevailed after some David De Gea brilliance. I think it was a fair result considering we just about edged this game and with the tournament we had it would have been very tough to have been denied on penalties. I'm not sure if I'll stick around now until the 2024 European Championships, but we'll see what happens. Strangely my manager reputation went from World Class to Continental after winning the biggest prize on offer in football, truly a strange turn of events that kind of bothers me.

It's impossible to know how good fat Ronaldo would have been had he been born in this generation with all the advancements. I'm sure his weight would have been kept under control much better and perhaps the surgeries and rehabilitation for the injuries he suffered would have been better.

Still be very hard to imagine him being on the same level as Ronaldo or Messi, those two are just freaks.

Good luck against Brazil Surprised you put four past England.

Cheers Johno I know, I was very surprised myself. I think getting the two early goals really knocked the stuffing out of England and from there on there was only ever going to be one winner. Hopefully we can beat Brazil

Come on K3VO!

Great tournament so far

A second consecutive World Cup final awaits and we'll face Brazil in the showpiece event after they hammered Argentina by the same scoreline that we beat England by. I expect a really tough final and it'll possibly go all the way to the lottery of penalties given the strength of both sides. We've scored 19 goals in our 6 games conceding just once and Brazil have scored 17, although there is a way past them apparently as they've conceded 4 goals.

We've been fantastic during this entire tournament and it'd be such a pity if we were to fall at the final hurdle. There's no point in changing tactics or the starting lineup really, why fix something that's not broken? We'll go into the final against Brazil and we'll give them a game, we'll play football and hopefully on the day that's enough to secure our third World Cup in 12 years and second in a row, a feat only achieved by Italy and Brazil in the past.

No doubt. Just probably not to the same degree that either have done in the past/currently do, particularly in the EPL.

Given the open nature of the Premier League they might do even better with all that space. How many would they get against the likes of Villa under Lambert, Crystal Palace under Warnock or QPR under Redknapp? Then you've got the likes of Hull, Burnley, Sunderland, Newcastle United. To be honest I don't think there's that much of a difference from La Ligas shite teams to the Premier Leagues shite teams.

England await in the semi finals of the 2022 World Cup after we thrashed Canada in the quarter final. I don't think there's much to say about this, we were comfortable favourites and expected to win, which we did and in comfortable fashion. England in the semi final could be potentially a tricky fixture, but I'm confident in this group of players. I predict we'll beat the Three Lions and book a date with either Brazil or Argentina in the World Cup final.

Bring on the all Iberian quarter final thanks very much. What? Wait, no you're joking. We won't be playing Portugal in the quarter final after Canada managed to beat them 1-0. That could possibly be the biggest shock ever in World Cup history and should, with no disrespect to Canada intended, mean our place in the semi finals is all but secured.
