That's not the impression I've picked up over the last few pages. Seems like a lot of gushing about how good United were and how "they're back". The win has certainly been met with far more excitement than what it probably should be, but I guess that comes with not having won a game prior.

Well they were good yesterday, especially Di Maria, Mata, Blind and Herrera. You can only play the team you're up against and they did a good job against QPR. Obviously there is a lot tougher tests to come, will we win the Premier League this season, I'm fairly certain we won't, not unless City, Chelsea and Arsenal all decide to just not play anymore, but the top four doesn't seem out of reach with the new signings we've bought.

I can't help but get the impression that some are getting a touch carried away with Man Utd's performance.

Nobody is getting carried away, I think most have said it was a poor QPR side. Although if that United side play like that they'll cause any side issues, whether it's QPR, Chelsea or Southampton.

Daley Blind reminds me of a younger, slightly quicker Dutch version of Gareth Barry. Understated, versatile and efficient.

Yeah that's probably the best comparison, looks like he'll be a steal for £14 million.

Mata, Di Maria and Blind should start every week. Superb displays from all 3 today.

Van Persie is such a cunt as well.

I think he and Herrera are going to be massive for us. They both ran midfield today extremely well and Blind just went about his business very quietly shielding the defence and letting Herrera push further forward. Might have only been QPR but it was a good performance and should build some confidence for next weekend away to Leicester.

I thought Rooney was average today, took his goal well and set up Herrera, but nothing great.

Di Maria was top drawer today, can't wait to see more from him!!

Blind at that base of midfield looks like being an utterly inspired signing. Everything Fletcher does wrong there he's done right and a goal and an assist for Herrera (two if you count being fouled for Di Maria's goal).

Having a midfield for the first time in 6 years is pretty good.

It's a surreal feeling seeing us actually have a functional midfield!!

You don't get 5-6 years in a side that should ultimately be wanting to challenge for the title. Arsenal are obviously different and he'll probably get that as long as Wenger remains, but he's certainly going to need to lift his output level and maintain that over a consistent period of time.

He's been at Arsenal since 2001, I really doubt he'll ever leave, especially not whilst Wenger is there. He's still very young and hasn't had more than one proper full season playing football. Becoming consistent is another skill learned, he'll pick it up as he goes along. He strikes me as a confidence player and his second half performance today will have done him the world of good.

Wilshere wasn't that great before scoring his goal today and after that it was like he went to another level.

In fairness though he's only 22 and still got another 5-6 years until his prime so plenty of time to improve.
