I've never been one to start at the top and win everything within a couple of seasons, or start at a club with loads of cash - where's the fun in that? Normally I'd start in the lower leagues of the English pyramid, Vanarama North or South and see what happened. But I fancied something different so I downloaded a huge database which included the Welsh pyramid and started off at St Dogmael's (a small Welsh village by Cardigan) in the 6th tier of Welsh football. Managing in these lower leagues is totally different, the tactics need more scrutiny and the scouting for amateur and free agents takes time to find anyone near half decent. However, I made it up to Welsh Premier League in consecutive seasons, finding a couple of 'diamonds' along the way. So there's a challenge, can you take a team from the Welsh sixth (or seventh as I'm about to attempt with Mumbles Rangers!) tier into Europe - I never quite managed it with St Dogmael's and moved on after relegation.
