If you look at the movement in the GIF you see the leg from the Real defender is nearer to the attackers standing leg which doesn't swing away after he passes him. It's just a blunder, not a foul.

In fact he looks like he has tried to twist to deliver the ball but not got it right.

He's obciously kicked the ground, you can see a fucking huge chunk of it up in the air.

Why he starts remonstrating with the officials is more confusing.

Aye. That was partly why I was laughing.

http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/italian-tv-prove-arturo-vidal-was-clipped-in-the-box-perhaps-it-wasnt-a-dirty-dive/

Actually look like he could have been clipped on the heel, thought it's hard to judge even with the slow mo pictures.

It was a dive but it there was clearly zero contact from the defender for the fall either. He stubbed the ground.

I had no idea it had been so long since the last PGR. I'm looking for a game like Need For Speed really but not the newer ones, more like Underground if at all possible

Was at the game tonight and the introduction of the "singing section," as embarrassing as it sounds, was actually a great improvement on atmosphere. Usually the only section of the ground singing is Stretford End and the singing section has been put at the other end where the away fans used to be so there's two sides of the ground making noise. Dunno if it came across on tv or not but it was much better.

Sounded like they were still being drowned out by the Spaniards for large portions. So the away fans are up in the top tier of the North Stand?

Food is cool now.

May I suggest risotto and venison instead? A red wine gravy on the venison would go down superbly. A bottle of Chianti on the go as well.

Holding the defender off. He was up against Mertesacker all night in fairness, hence why his arms might have been too high on Koscielny

You may be right on the last point but why then throw his elbows back and not a straight arm

The ball was in the air and he was going for a header. That's reason enough

You seem to forget that he didn't jump much at all and his arms weren't even in a jumping movement. The lack of GIF or video though is annoying

I didn't think so. He didn't really 'swing' his elbow, he just had it up and backed into whoever it was. Tyldesley screaming: "HE SHOULD BE OFF!!!!" as soon as the replay shows is a bit over the top

Of course he did. There was never a reason to raise his arms like he did. It should have been a straight red

I find it really weird some of the comments coming out (such as all the top rated ones on the BBC article).

Ferguson was obviously no saint, but he was the the most consistent winner this country has seen, possibly, ever in Football. I find it really weird armchair managers coming out with shit like 'he was selfish', 'it was about his ego' and crap like that when they have the sum total of zero managerial experience, I mean, I understand that 99% of football discussion is between laymen who don't have a clue but it seems really bizarre to question so obviously a successful method of running a football club that Ferguson perfected.

Its open season for a lot of fans who are now revelling in this weird reality where they can criticise Ferguson and not have it blow up in their face.

As for the book itself, can't see where many of the stories are coming from. Beckham was sold because he was too big for his boots (we knew that in 2003, didn't we?), Keane was a gobby shite who was often divisive and was especially so at the end of his time at United (you don't say), Ronaldo was very good at football and Fergie made him stay an extra year (well duh).

As for the rest, it's classic Ferguson. He's refusal to admit anyone ever was better than him is absolutely crucial in why he was so good. It might come across as one eyed, bitter and even a little pathetic but its the sort of unwavering self belief, even to the point of completely denying whats in front of you, that you see in all successful leaders.

If anyone expected a magnanimous, conciliatory book where Ferguson drew a line under his managerial reign you haven't been paying attention.

They are likely the same idiots who were baying for him to quit as he was 'done' for the last few years.

I'd say City were marginally the better team, but the important bit is that at no point in that match were United 'battering' City. That's just a figment of his whisky-addled imagination.

Nah at no point were United battering City. Unless you count the race to the exits by the wankers I was berating

Cody is awesome - and Rikishi sells a clothesline like no other.

Cody is awesome but not a top seller. Just a clothesline though? He was very agile in the ring but a top seller?

Lesnar's whole thing is no selling so why is he a main seller? Cody and Rikishi? Why no Mick Foley? Terry Funk or Bret Hart? That list is a fair bit shit

Jesus fucking Christ, they're like eating lava.

Welbeck is a great up and coming player but he has next to no shooting ability or composure. I would rather play John Jensen up top than Welbeck at the moment but nobody can fault the influence Welbeck has at the back as he always seems to be there

I think everyone's just bored of it now. It's not like children don't ever go missing - there must be hundreds of British children that have gone missing over the past six years that nobody knows about. She's almost certainly dead, anyway.

The Cross of St. Peter has evolved recently into an anti-Christian symbol though, regardless of it's traditional meaning.

Ahh, I want it, or Y, so much, except I don't have a 3DS and I'd only be buying one to play Pokemon. I can't really justify that, especially with Christmas shit to buy too.

Get the new 2DS. This new game is a new approach and well worth it. There are a fair few good games on it also if you wanted to try out some others as well
