Rooney was great, Kagawa too was impressive and Giggs proves many people wrong yet again.

Honestly, its his first good performance in about a year.
He gets games because he's Giggs, not because of what he brings to the team, usually. He's a United legend, obviously, which is why you see such frustration when he's trundled on in games with 15 minutes to go and he produces one of his usual performances where he flicks his way to a 50% pass completion rate and does little else.
The reason you see such negative reactions is because he's a legend, and for a long time he's just been a long way off of the level that saw him become one.
I certainly wouldn't begrudge him it if this was the start of another Indian summer for him, but I'd doubt it.

Sounded like they were still being drowned out by the Spaniards for large portions. So the away fans are up in the top tier of the North Stand?

It sounded better than nothing but it was weird.
Like an away section if that makes sense? It was obviously one pocket of noise from one part of the stadium.

Best striker on the planet, AINEC.

They weren't, the Sociedad fans didn't do much apart from the occasional "REEEEEAL, REEEEEEEAL," when they got a free kick and that weird whistling noise Spaniards make when things aren't going their way. There were a lot of them though so whenever they did make noise it was loud.
And yeah, they're up at the top there.
Yeah there was a couple who got there about 15 minutes in and then left with 10 minutes to go sat next to us. Seriously.
Yeah well it was a designated section where the away fans used to be but no one else around them was making much noise. What tended to happen was they would start a chant and then the Stretford End would join in or vice-versa. I usually sit right next to the Stretford End (directly opposite the "singing section" ) so it sounded great where I was. Felt like more than one group was singing for once rather than just the people to my right. There seemed to be more fans chanting around the area where I was than normally, singing is infectious.
I definitely think they should give it a run, my mate was telling me if he had opted to move they would've given him the difference in price back too as it's cheaper than where he sits (he's got a season ticket), but it was just for that one game last night.

There's a few rumours going around that they're going to double the allocation for the next trial (Donetsk at home, I think) to 6,000 which will be good.
I've seen a few that were in the Scoreboard end saying they couldn't really hear the Stretty and certainly couldn't hear K stand, with others that were closer saying that both stands were reasonably loud for a European group game. Probably something to the argument that the acoustics in Old Trafford aren't great.
It's a good idea, anyway, and hopefully as it gets bedded in some of the interaction between the various pockets of noise will improve, I heard 'Stretty, stretty give us a song' and a few others go round last night. Even if its just 6,000 fans making noise from one corner of the stadium its better than nothing, theres only 2 or 3 more times a season that Old Trafford is louder than last night.

What's he doing at fucking PSG, is the best question.

Earning shit loads of money.

Actually look like he could have been clipped on the heel, thought it's hard to judge even with the slow mo pictures.

we may not be a competitive squad in the champions league (but actually we deserved to win against Olympiakos),but we can see some beautifull goals in our games, mostly against us.
previous season the goals of Eliseu and Mexes and now this one.
Tommo.

It was a dive but it there was clearly zero contact from the defender for the fall either. He stubbed the ground.

Why he starts remonstrating with the officials is more confusing.
Obtuse
Aye. That was partly why I was laughing.
bluemoon.
No, he's just awful generally. He's even useless as a defensive midfielder.
One of our worst transfers in recent years.
Crane
Who suggested he didn't kick the ground? Seen no one suggest that.

I swear he was really sought after when you signed him.
I remember us being linked to him as well as a few others.
Obtuse
In fact he looks like he has tried to twist to deliver the ball but not got it right.
bluemoon.
It's really weird. He was never supposed to be brilliant but by all accounts he was a solid, reliable and good defensive midfielder in Portugal. Apart from a handful of games (his debut at Stoke, away at Newcastle) he's been utter gash.
Even Kolarov's been better than him this season!
