I might be on the sickest run I have ever had on FM. 11 out of my 12 last games I have won 2-0 or 3-0 (one 1-1 draw agains rivals Diosgyor), that give us 27-1 in goal difference in these games...

WC 90 was my first and ofc Euro 92. Most memorable was WC 94 (probably because it was the best display from my national side ever in any tournament... fuckin' Sweden robbed us of a semi final).

Yeah 20 but rewatched loads of games/highlights from that tournament, think it's pretty widely accepted that 1990 was a quality World Cup. Not just for England's excellent effort but just in general.

That doesn't sound like the 1990 I remember. I believe it was regarded as a boring Cup full of foul play and defensive minded teams.

And that Sweden lost their three games 1-2, 1-2, 1-2...

Totally threw it away. We were winning the league comfortably. We had a 12 game winning streak, then something happened, and we started dopping points everywere. In the second to last game of the season we got an opportunity to take the lead back but conceded a late goal against Gyor.

I haven't played the first two challenges, but I thougt I try this one. First season done:

A very close ending to the season where I had the trophy for about 5 minutes. We scored 1-0 in the 85:th minute in the last game, and Videoton only had 2-2, but they scored in the 89:th minute to give them the league. Probably justifyed...

Too bad. I always enjoy reading about other people managing in Sweden (and Denmark as well, but not as much). I haven't done that much in earlier versions (though I have a copy of Championship manager 2, Scandinavian leagues somewhere), but started to enjoy it the last couple of years as it is so encredibly annoying managing those poor teams.

Hope you start another story, wherever it may be based.

On another topic (due to the The Smiths reference earlier), During the 90s, Skellefteå was one of the big indie pop citys in Sweden with bands like The Wannadies, This Perfect Day and my favorites A Shrine.

I just read Poe's great summary on the Tuchel styled tactic. I might try that, anything that rates work rate over technique seems right for Sweden. I just got Karlberg promoted from the division 2. But now I'm being hammered in the Division 1 North.

Just hang in there, and remember, those long off seasons are for real, even in the Allsvenskan (Premier division). We poor sods that have been cursed with being fans of Swedish teams just sit and rot from late October til the end of March... Thant's why I think the new cup format may be good, it gives a couple of competitive games before the season starts.

Not a bad first season. You always need a lot of really young players in the Swedish lower leagues, as it is impossible to make any money... Henriksson looks great. Work rate is the key attribute here I think. Since there's not many players with good technique - hard work is necessary!

The future looks a lot brighter with that money, even if you don't spend it on transfers, you'll might have enough to prevent people leaving because you cannot pay them enough salary. And the facilities of course.

Great career, Dan. I didn't quite get why you abandoned the nationalistic idea. Was England out of talent? I know it can be frustrating when you "can" only buy half decent players to ridiculous prices. Or did you just want to burn all that money?!

And I agree with KEZ above, maybe try it abroad.
