Yep. Wholeheartedly agree! Which is why I haven't purchased those 2D and 3D kits. But what can we do @priority76 , but be super patient, super polite, and super grateful for all these Graphic Team members here on SortItOutSI.net, right!? 😁🤷‍♂️ And in some cases we must wait for over 7-8 months for just a few various 3D kits, but not a comprehensive, current zip-file of ALL the current teams/clubs and leagues. It does try anyone's patience.

 

Anyway, “hurry up and wait some more” seems to be the popular mantra. 😉

 

Just install Kit Basher and make all the 2d/3d kits you WANT in about 5 minutes. I literally refresh the kits for all leagues in the country i am playing ever year in game. It takes minutes.

For the preserve bug. A temp. fix was posted on FMbase until they are able to update the app. After you use the preserve option and the app finishes running, before you reload the skin, go to the config.xml file in the facepack's folder. Use replace all and replace ".png" with blank (leave the space empty). This will fix all the preserved faces. Now you can reload the skin and it should work.


Yeah I posted the fix on the Zealand boards and his discord. Both preserve and overwrite functions add ".png" to each record in the config.xml file. So if you use notepad++ and do a find/replace for .png with nothing in the replace field. Then save and close the file. Rest cache/skin in FM it'll work fine.

Zealand announced this pack is going launch on the day fm21 comes out of beta. It was in one of his youtube videos.

Would it be possible to make this compatible with this script? If you could create a new batch of faces, we could make a collaborative effort to remove snow and sort by haircolor and skincolor

I already sorted @HRiddick's pack to the best of my abilities and I can confirm it's working with a custom set of images.

If it's that python script that floats around then it should work fine. You would just have to sort the pics first into the folders.

I was going to use that script but I never wanted to sort all the faces. I just took the original upload of faces from post replicated to 14256 images and used a script to assign a random face to every single newgen forever.

It does get hair color and ethnicity wrong since the script I used doesn't count for that. I have python script just never wanted to sort the pics.

The python script def works though that's what all of the chilled moose followers use for those packs

Simultaneously besides improving the generated faces, I am working on an app that manages the config generation for your regens. I aim to make it cross-platform compatible (Linux/OSX/Win10). Also we teamed up with people from Zealand to improve and diversify our next facepack. Plus we have a better cleaning process, so we get rid of the "halo" most of the time completely.

We hope to release it soon, but it will still take some time. So stay tuned.

The halo isn't all that bad I actually find it useful so I know who a gen is... If not you have to look up his age and team history. Cause there is no way to tell from the faces if you have the facepack cutouts for everyone else.

I have access to the Python script that can assign face picks based upon ethnicity. Not sure if you want to look it over for ideas or anything since its cross platform. Even with just the 1800+ pics I am well satisfied as every gen gets one of them automatically. I'm not even that concerned the pics don't match ethnicity at this point. It's just so much better then the built in facegen it doesn't matter what it lacks.

New to FM but I was kind of shocked the FaceGen is so awful. I mean OOTPb (Out of the Park Baseball) a much smaller game and company have way better FaceGen in it's game. It's one of the rare things OOTPb beats FM in.

This looks amazing. I am currently using this pack https://df11faces.com/Regens-Megapack. They were automatically assigned to the regens. Could I use the config file for that one (adjusted to fit the amount of faces)? I have no clue how to do it from scratch.

Any advice for a dummy on how to actually do it from scratch is also greatly appreciated of course.


With the script I posted? If so then yes. You just need exactly 14,256 images named/numbered exactly 1 to 14256. Replace the config file in your megapack folder with the one I posted the link too. Clear cache and reload skin. Anything with a generated face will now get one from the pack you downloaded.

But the NewGan V1 faces are excellent so I use them. Now I did hear there is a python script floating around that can auto-assign sorted pics to nationality/ethnicity. If someone comes across that then it would really be sweet to hook it in this project.

and how u fast rename all those pictures to their regen id's???


A free program like "bulk rename utility" to rename all the files. So I copy/paste the original 1800+ images to 14,256. Used the program to then randomize the order of the renaming and just start from 1 to n+1. Click go, basically. Takes all of 5 seconds for the program to run.

Now the 1st question I have absolutely no idea. I am assuming its part of the xml script from Willylim that he made for FM18. The xml file has over 1 million lines!!!!!!! I'm assuming each of the gen ids are those 1 million lines. Looks like it goes from 1915388583 to 1916413232

There is also another script out there that takes care of the ethnicity part. I know it was mentioned somewhere, maybe a podcast or article, but it has to do with "Chilled Moose". Her custom regen faces. I think one of her discord users created a script to map her face gen packs by nationality or ethnicity. Besides a couple of steps its basically suppose to be automatic as well. Chilled Moose stuff is paid content as she has a Patreon which among other things gives access to the scripts and discord. But as far as I heard the script wasn't created by her and so is free to be modified if one can find the script.

I came across the Willylim script because someone applied it to a free "self isolation" 50 pack that Chilled Moose gave out when Covid isolation struck. Limited effectiveness since you are replicating 50 to 14256. Many many many duplicates. But with the 1800+ its pretty dang on great. If there was a full 14256 unique pics even better. Someone posted a link to the script, somewhere on social media most likely a twitter post

If you wanted something quick and dirty as a stop gap, until more advanced methods are able to be produced, there was a script from Willylim in FM18 that used exactly 14,256 picture files to automatically assign all generated characters a face. You just rename the files 1 to 14,256 and drop them and the xml file into a folder and you're off totheraces.

I tested it with your 1886 picture files I just had to replicate it to 14,256 and randomly generate there file names 1 to 14,256. I'm sure I will notice duplicate pictures since the pool was only 1886 pics replicated. But if you had 14,256 unique picture files I'm sure it would drop the chances of ever seeing duplicate pics for gens to really low.

Great stop gap until you can figure out the ethnicity/nationality/skin color thing. And it doesn't require the end user to do anything. They would just drop the folder with the 14,256 and the xml file into their graphics folder.
