Why has it taken so long for Ian Cathro to be confirmed?

Bennett would be mental, especially when we'd have to spend 30 million to get him. Id rather we spent the 21 million to get Bacca even if he is unproven in the league

Elliot Bennett wouldn't cost 30m mate.

Ive seen him a few times and certainly think he's no better than Coutinho.

I don't think Benteke would be a very good signing for Liverpool at all.

Can't complain about Liverpool's signings?

I think only Firminio is one that would get clubs above 6th place worrying, and even then at 29m is a hell of a lot of money. Clyne would be a good buy but it's not confirmed yet is it?

Bacca-Sturridge-Balotelli-Ings is a decent strikeforce, mind.

Players like Ings and Bogdan are just backup and no better than what you had last year.

We're too slow signing players, but the speed of which players leave is mind boggling.

I don't think we should get rid of Anita and Coloccini yet - Coloccini should start to play a less important role this season though. He can only do that if we sign 2 quality centre backs though, which we won't.

If I had to pick 3 players to let go, it would be Williamson, Ameobi and one of Gouffran/Obertan. Probably Gouffran.

Well let's sign players with genuine pace to hurt teams then? Surely would be a good idea.

As a lot of the shocking performances over the past few seasons have featured Ameobi and Obertan being completely useless.

They aren't good enough.

Large first team squad doesn't mean it's good.

Majority of those players are shit.

We have too many AMC's too - De Jong, Cabella and Marveaux all play there and will struggle out wide due to lack of pace.

Our wingers are shockingly bad too, Ameobi, Obertan, Gouffran and Aarons. The only half decent one is Aarons and he's injured constantly.

Tyrone Mings is good, seen him a few times.

Newcastle were linked but 8m is way too much for us to spend.

Also if Cisse is sold - we need 7 major first team signings, the same as if Tiote also goes we need 8.

It'll never happen, though.

Does it? Going two weeks without an assistant and a first team coach during the summer?

Most teams would have had it sorted within a few days of appointment of the manager - as McClaren would have had his preferred appointments in mind and let those above him know.

We've been knocked back by Zenden and Steve Round already haven't we?

We've got a 'team building' pre-season tour of the USA starting in 2 and a half weeks, would be nice to have at least half of our (supposedly arriving) 6 permanent signings in by then wouldn't it?

We'll end up with a few loanees from the big lads and a new striker, most likely.

There's absolutely no chance of us finishing there, without significant investment anyway.

Which Mike Ashley won't provide and Lee Charnley isn't competent enough to use anyway.

The fact we haven't got any backroom staff speaks volumes.

2 weeks until pre-season training starts and we need about 9-10 players to be competitive.

Hmm

He wasn't needed which was the main problem at Man Utd - their strikers play completely differently to Falcao and it was obviously a change having a poacher in the side.

That said, he's definitely not shit as Man Utd fans would have you believe - he just didn't fit into the way LvG wanted to play and was a poor signing.

I liked the striped cyan kit from 2005/06. I might be the only one though.

I liked that one too, I liked our European kit from the year after/before which was sky blue and black too.

I loved our set of kits when we finished 5th.

The home kit was fantastic, orange one was superb but the black one was something else.

We'll be able to find out when Sunderland are going to sack Dick Advocaat as well.

Awkward donkey imo, but absolutely prolific last year.

Never really seen anything of him - hopefully you're wrong.

I wanted Austin and Berahino, anyway.

I'm guessing that means Newcastle are interested in him. Was a goal machine in Holland, got something like 70 goals in 3 years, but struggled a bit when he went to Wolfsburg. The season just gone was much better though, couldn't stop scoring at one point. Worth a punt i'd say if you could get him for about £10m to £12m or less.

We've apparently agreed a £9m deal for him, to be announced on Friday.

Yeah, for England. Except Lampard and Beckham.

Terry was a cunt but was glorious.

Gerrard was a cunt and nowhere near as good for Liverpool as he was for England.

Sterling is a cunt.

Rooney is a hero, fair play. But even then gets stick for not winning games by himself.

Rio is a cunt but was good.

Cole was a cunt but was good.

Wilshere is a cunt but he's good?

English fans are just allergic to good players - if they can't pick on them for being shit they'll be called overrated and cunts until everybody hates them. Prime example is Lampard getting booed by England fans despite being the teams top scorer and player of the year twice in a row.

He also invests a hell of a lot more than he does in real life, and you do have a final say over transfers too.

Acts like any other chairman in game.
