League Two/One is where this will get interesting.

The attacking version of this tactic is coming along very well, albeit I think I could just put this side in a regular 4-4-2 and they’d win 90% of games. However the shape I want is clearly demonstrated here where Bristol Rovers have the ball and we’re pressing their backline into an error. They have it in the right back position, and our 3 AMC’s are putting pressure on their backline, pushing very high up so their central defender #5 must punt the ball long, where our left back, and two central defenders will easily collect possession.
We won the ball back in the above scenario and we can now start attacking their backline through the middle due to their defence being disjointed. #9 has just fed our main playmaker, the Enganche #12 the ball, and has runners in 3 different directions. Two simple central passes to either #4 the CMR(a) or the #8 the CML(a), or to switch the ball out wide to cross the ball to our CWB(a) #2. He also has the option to take the ball on himself and work a shooting position.
In the end he took the ball forward and laid a small through pass to our #8 for an easy tap in. It is in this screen shot where you can see our main attacking shape, with every player except the back 3 committing to attacks when we are on the ball. I can get away with this due to the strength of my squad in this division and will be interesting to see moving forward how the tactical approach develops.
We have some tricky away games coming up – so hopefully we can see the defensive side of this tactic in operation.

I’ve recently created a club called AFC Westoe – situated in my hometown and area of Westoe, South Shields. The team has been entered into the Vanarama Conference Premier in place of Eastleigh – because well, fuck Eastleigh, that’s why. I have taken over Westoe Rugby Club’s Wood Terrace home, as it is a stadium in the very small village of Westoe. It’s also been extended to be a 10,000 all seater with expansion potential. The Mecca Bingo next door to it has just been closed down so we’ll be alright there.
The chairman is none other than Bob Bailey. ‘Who the fuck is that?’ you may ask. Well I’ll tell you – I haven’t got a clue either, he just turned up when I loaded the game up. He’s black with an afro and agreed to let me have 4 coaches instead of 3. That is all anyone knows of Bob Bailey.
I populated the squad with various players with their birthplace set as South Shields/Jarrow and created some too. Their abilities have been adjusted for Conference/League Two level although I suspect I may have made a few of them too good and the first season is going to be a doddle – never mind. The squad list is below. I have managed to procure some free signigs and loans from the Premier League/Championship youth teams to fill out the squad and make it capable of challenging for the Conference – which having played 4 games already I think I should do with relative ease, but I can’t be arsed to go back and change things so that’s the way its going to be.
Meet the manager – the big guy – Mr. Alan Shearer. He wasn’t very good in his short stint at Newcastle but hopefully the big drop in level will help him gain experience. He’s also appointed Danny Murphy as his assistant. Why? Because Danny Murphy is awesome. That’s why.
I’ll be continuing to develop my 4-1-2-3-0 strikerless formation I was recently using at Newcastle – so this will probably be the best place to follow the development of that formation – due to the strength of my squad I have adjusted it to a very attacking version of the same core formation – the two centre midfielders have now adopted an Attack duty, so will get up and support the 3 AMC’s and create overloads in the box and hopefully we’ll score lots of goals. The two full backs have taken on Attack duties too, maurauding down the touchline to give the tactic it’s width it sometimes lacks. The half back and two centre backs will provide the majority of the defensive work – while I still expect the two centre midfielders and two wing backs to help out too. This is how it looks:

I struggle to see what everyone sees in Ameobi - gave the ball away every time he got it yesterday and created absolutely nothing.
Amazing that even non-football men like Charnley and Ashley can't see that Williamson isn't good enough for the Premier League either.
