Quarter final of a league cup doesn't count as ambition

We also fielded a horrendous team and fluked a result against Man City.

And I watched it, pub near mine shows pretty much every game, they've never missed one, even in the Championship.

Out in Round 3 again after resting key players, shocking.

Until Ashley goes this club will just continue showing 0 ambition. It's quite sad.

That being said, Cabella had a decent game and scored a perfectly good goal - hopefully he'll get in the side over Gouffran/Sammy now Hard to believe that they start ahead of him. Insane.

Tuchel would be a good appointment, read quite a bit about him last year.

He's not the loyalest player ever considering the amount of transfer requests to get wage rises he's got but I don't know of any player that would have done any differently.

One of the best midfielders in the world in his prime, though.

Because it's not sensible to judge a manager on having a storming few months then a completely abysmal few after that.

It's not sustainable nor healthy.

Who, realistically, do you want to get it?

Beardsley/Carver til the end of the season then reassess. De Boer intimated he'd be willing to leave Ajax for us at the start of the season but Ashley is unlikely to appoint somebody who he'll have to pay compensation for.

I really wouldn't mind Sherwood - he'd play decent football and keep us in midtable - which is all we're going to be under Mike Ashley. Just don't want any more boring defensive football to watch - I go and pay 600 a season for a season ticket and I'd like to be entertained. Seen way too many games under Pardew where we're camped on our box launching failed counter attack after counter attack through players with 0 attacking quality like Gouffran and Sammy Ameobi.

I get the impression that alot of Newcastle fans won't be happy regardless of who they get, in many ways they're like Liverpool in thinking the club should always be doing better than is realistic.

Not really, midtable is enough for most fans - our form throughout 2014 would have had us relegated most seasons.

Love how it's only West Ham and Charlton fans that aren't having a go at Newcastle fans for wanting Pardew gone.

Coloccini will get the job as an interim manager until the summer, probably.

He's in a win-win situation there Ashley - fans will support Coloccini as he's a good guy, and we're in no danger of going down.

Rather have him in charge than Pardew, too.

I really wouldn't mind Sherwood.

He'll be similar in quality to Pardew but his football will be way better.

Unsure if he'll be as much of a little bitch as Pardew is, but we'll wait and see.

He'll never have it better than he's had it up here.

Complete charlatan and a fraud - he'll get Palace relegated I'm sure of it.

Sick of people coming out and saying he was good for Newcastle, his record since his 5th place finish is absolutely atrocious.

Be someone shit, no doubt - Pardew was a huge problem but Ashley is bigger.

It'll be Ally McCoist or Sherwood or something.

Aye, can see good managers being put off by our huge prat of a chairman. Shame. Looks like even shit ones like Pardew have now had enough Although if it's true that this is all politics then it's nice to see Pardew finally grow some balls about squad strengthening.

We're crying out for a proper winger and a centre back.

De Boer would bring a definitive style and strategy though, and wouldn't be playing people out of position for no reason.

I'd like Laudrup too, or maybe even Glen Hoddle. Wouldn't fancy Hughton back, or Kinnear, Bruce or Shearer.

Pulis would be an alright choice, especially given as his biggest weakness would be papered over by having Graham Carr to help him out in the transfer market.

De Boer as favourite to take over from him too, which would be fantastic.

Pardew leaving and us getting £6m for the privilege would be amazing Just can't see it happening unfortunately.

Absolutely baffled why Pardew wants to sign another striker - at the best of times he only plays 1 there, very rarely plays 4-4-2, mainly 4-3-3 and 4-5-1.

We have Cisse, Gouffran, De Jong and Perez capable of playing there too, Gouffran is shit I suppose but that's still 3 players.

Meanwhile we have 3 centre backs, 2 of whom are absolutely dreadful and 1 of which is injured every few weeks.

We're also crying out for proper wide players as he's decided Cabella is just like Mbiwa - brilliant but not good enough for Pardew.

More information needed?

Formation? Strategy? Philosophy?

Who have you used it with, and what players were stand outs?

Results etc.
