It's not true at all - if a "London person" came here and spent money in order to make us competitive/ambitious we'd have no problem with them at all.

Chris Hughton was born in Forest Gate in London and was loved by the fans here. It's total rubbish.

Has nothing to do with where people come from it's to do with their lack of ambition.

Pardew won't quit btw, he has way too much of an ego to do that - he really thinks he can turn things round He also has way too much compensation heading his way.

I think we'll win with an unconvincing performance like we did vs Cardiff the last time this happened.

Hopefully not true about Pardew sending him away when he came for help.

MYM said Pardew told him he was going to be 4th choice this season, and there's been several comments relating to the fact that Pardew didn't think he was physical enough for the division. (which may be true btw, he looked shaky when he did play - was never given a proper run in the side at centre back, though)

It also speaks volumes about the man that if it wasn't his decision - he was willing to go into a Premier League season with 1 out of form and 2 shit centre backs and peddle the bullshit that we're 'defensively sound'.

I think he had a lot of say in Mbiwa and Ben Arfa leaving - especially as he's known to have no working relationship with either. But the Cabaye/Ba/Carroll/Debuchy deals had nothing at all to do with him as far as I'm aware.

The problem isn't transfers atm - the two teams on Saturday on paper have very little between them but on the field we were miles apart - that is down to the manager. The way we're playing (poorly, with the exception of the second half vs City) - is down to the manager. The fact that he's blaming the fans/players/opposition/referee's/fixture congestion/science/europa league/anything but himself when we lose is frustrating too. It's clear he's not a good manager but he's capable of better than what we're producing at the minute, and he has to take blame for that.

Our team plus Ben Arfa and Mbiwa is good enough imo - but it was Pardew's decision to get rid of those two - there isn't any real financial benefit to Ashley by letting them leave on loan (we're still paying 50% of Ben Arfa's wages I think?).

New ideas are needed, and Pardew doesn't have them.

He can be blamed for the lack of strategy in attack though - Newcastle have literally never been solid defensively in my lifetime.

Riviere our centre forward hasn't had a chance in between the two goal posts in 4 games. That's crazy.

Pardew also must take his share of the blame for forcing a defender out, and saying we're 'defensively sound' - when it's clear to anybody we're far from it. We've needed a reshuffle at the back for about 2 seasons now - Coloccini seems to be just phoning it in and Williamson is poor. Taylor is worse so he's not the solution and after that we're looking at youngsters? It's ridiculous.

Mata, Di Maria and Blind should start every week. Superb displays from all 3 today.

Van Persie is such a cunt as well.

I'd like somebody with a clear philosophy and a person that is willing to stick to it.

Pardew chops and changes far too much. Someone from the continent with a new backroom team too - I think it'll suit our style of play more than the kick and rush style of English managers.

John Carver is an embarrassment too.

Pardew out. Ashley out.

We'll never finish above 10th again unless one of these two things happen.

Preferably both.

Cos UEFA knew that if City went to court, FFP would be shot down completely basically. So they're rewarding/thanking City for not doing that I guess

It would only be shot down because they're too scared to punish everyone equally.

There's literally no point in it, people can blatantly see Man City have broken the rules.

i just don't understand if Man City have broke the rules by buying their success like they pretty much have done, and UEFA announced plans to try and combat that - they'd bend them to allow Man City to buy more success.

It makes no sense.

Given what we've had over the last few years, Ashley would be an improvement.

Doesn't say much though.

Aye, tbf Rangers is the perfect club for Ashley.

If he can sell us and buy Rangers he can get global coverage through the Champions League for Sports Direct with very minimal investment.

It's surprising he didn't try and sell up when Rangers were at their lowest ebb.

And aye I can see where your coming from with the naming rights issue - 1 pound is ridiculous, what is even the point?

According to various sources Ashley is trying to sell us to buy Rangers, and according to the Express Pardew has 2 games to save his job.

New board and new manager would be quite a good tonic for the poor transfer window we've just had.

I genuinely couldn't care less whether we post a profit or not. Doesn't concern me in the slightest unless we're getting sanctions on the pitch for spending too much.

If Ashley decided he wanted to spend 100m in a transfer window I'd be very excited.

I'm sure he cares to a degree. It's not in his interest in us losing our Premier League status. But he certainly has no ambition upwards of keeping us clear of the dogfight. That much is evident.

We have the same 3 senior centrebacks that we did in the Championship ffs. Two aren't good enough.

We still haven't replaced Cabaye or Remy properly who carried us last year.

Aye - going to expose a real lack of depth in our squad that.

We have no real replacement for de Jong.

We've got no creative centre midfielders either - going to be a long season this - we didn't strengthen at all in the summer - unsure why Ashley hasn't learned his lesson from 2 years ago.

Mbiwa will be a good defender with a manager who is capable of man managing technical players.

Unsure if he'll be as good as Benatia as I rarely watch Serie A but I'm confident he'll be a success.

I don't post on here as much as I used to. Only people I have a vague idea about are Deano via his Facebook page and I usually argue with Abbott once or twice a week about Arsenal/ Liverpool on Twitter.

If Pardew was sacked in Jan 2013 his time at the club would be looked back upon in a similar way to Glenn Roeder's time at the club not Bobby Robson, he had a decent enough start but in the end proved himself to be nothing more than average.

I'm sorry, it's a bit of a pet hate for me this guy's reign being compared to Robson, Keegan mk 1 and during stabilitygate even Alex Ferguson.

Don't listen to Shola, he twists stats in a way that no other fan could.

Pardew would never be looked on as favourably as Robson ffs

Cisse stopped scoring when he got put out wide - we finished the season playing 4-3-3 with Demba Ba on the left, and he kicked off over the summer saying he was going to leave.

Then we started against Spurs with Ba in the middle, and Cisse out wide.

Do you honestly believe that Pardew ruins players?

I certainly believe his piss poor man management can't help. Remember Stoke at home when Ben Arfa set 3 goals up and was dropped without explanation for 5 games?

Playing cisse right midfield, sissoko attacking left midfield etc
