We started badly and it was even a worse finish I guess. Didn't think that this is the furthest we will get to!
I would have been sacked anyways so I guess this had to happen. Hoping for some other job to come in very soon! Will go on holiday, applying for every job available!

A simple 1-0 win against PSG saw us lift the CL trophy for the second time in a row, and also the clubs 3rd time.
5 trophies, one season! Can't say this wasn't a good season for us. Despite that, I still got bored of Roma.
The time was right. I have the World Cup ahead of me and when the right job comes through I will snap it up!
These, amazing stats, belong to the one and only Mattia Destro, This is the first time in any of my FM saves that I had a player perform so good over the whole season! He will always have a special place in my heart and I am looking forward to working with him again in the future!

An amazing run to win ourselves the league title, a second time in a row! We were lucky in the CL, conceding 5 to Napoli, just for Vossen to save us in the final minutes to go through on away goals! Also, a great home win against Real Madrid to take us to the final where we meet PSG, the team we beat two years ago in the quarter final!
A great finish to the league saw us win the title by a very respectable 12 points!

So, we started these two months badly. But it all changed from there to good results! Only other downfall was Lazio in the second leg of the semi final but I don't really care about the Italian Cup.
1 point behind Milan and things are looking good. Seems like it might just take one game either way to decide the next Italian champions!
Only other transfers made in January. Cragno was asking to go for loan and it was the smartest option for both club and player, so I had to get a backup keeper. Bravo has been a reliable keeper for Real Sociedad, so with him aging a bit I saw him as a great option in that department. Only bad thing is that we left them with no first choice keeper, and since Bravo left them they were only able to keep 2 clean sheets and win three times. Whoops.
FRANCE
This is our group for the Euro 20 qualification round. Should at least get second, easily!
What the Future Holds!
I have decided to quit my post as Roma manager at the end of the season, before the world cup preparations begin. Although I am enjoying good form here, with great players and facilities at my disposal, I have grown a bit bored of life in Rome.

Not too many matches, but they were all brilliant! Good wins in the CWC and I am happy that we are racking up the trophies!
1 point behind after getting those games back! Can see things getting much much better from now on!
Meet Achraf Achaoui. Not the best stats, that's something you see straight away but he is only 21, cost only £325k! Backup to Biraghi who is doing a great job! Only need to bring a backup keeper to Leali as I decided that it would be better to let Cragno go out on loan to get playing time!
FRANCE
This is our group. Japan should be a simple three points. Spain and Colombia on the other hand are going to be tough to beat!

A great example of the comebacks I was talking about. We were leading until the 70th minute. And then they scored the winner from an 87th minute penalty. It sucks!

I was really bored today so I got carried away. Sorry for such a long update!
ROMA
As you can see, we are doing okay. Kind of annoyed with other teams coming from behind to beat us or get a draw, but we have also done that so it sort of even out. Hopefully it won;t happen as much in the coming matches.
Third, 5 points behind leader Milan and we also have one game in hand. Should things go our way I can see us gaining momentum and winning the title a second time in a row! Cagliari have been surprisingly good!
Easiest group we could have wished for. Good performances most of the times, defence looks stronger in the CL than it is in the League. Weird!
UEFA Super Cup
Another win, another trophy! Seems like last season was just a trigger to all this silverware!
FRANCE
First two friendlies are from the pre-season break, I forgot to post them in that update. Last four group games were good, shame that we dropped points (again) to Greece but who cares?
It was a very easy group. Very happy with the amount of goals scored and also very happy at the fact that we only conceded a total of 3 goals in 10 games! Hopefully things go our way in the WC and that should boost us to glory!

Not too much happened. The only really big thing that happened was Dodo leaving, but for "that much" I couldn't say no, especially as we have a strong enough squad!
Italian Super Cup
Good win to kick start the season. Shame we conceded those two goals but a win is a win and this is another trophy added to my cabinet.

Only needed one point and we did just that! Not the best way to finish the league season. But hey - we are CHAMPIONS!
Somehow we managed to stay six points ahead. Great season, nothing else should be said!
Italian Cup
I was happy to reach the final, but it wasn't my main priority! Still the team managed to do what they do best...
WIN!
Champions League
A game against the German champions, Bayern Munich, wasn't what I wanted. It was scary. They beat us in a friendly earlier this year which made things scarier. This is the clubs only second appearance in a Champions League final, the first time was in 1984, against Liverpool. Roma lost that game. This was going to be historic no matter what the outcome was.
But did anyone think this could happen?
1-1 in the 80th minute. Vossen scores after a terrible mistake of the Germans. Just for them to score a minute later and shatter our dreams.
6 minutes into extra time, Bayern score and make it 3-2. All seems finished. But guess what - Emre Can pushed Pjanic down in the box to give us a penalty in the 120th minute. De Rossi scores and we go to penalties.
First twelve penalties are converted (6-6) and Bayern CB, Jerome Boateng steps up to take his penalty, just for Leali to pull an amazing save! Next up is Tony Sanabria, our young striker, already missed two penalties this season. But that was nothing for him as he put the ball in to the net!
Most exciting game ever for me!

Good results, despite a few slip ups! The City away game was probably the best game I had ever had on FM!
So, 7 games to go, I am backing Juve to win their game in hand, so 5 points ahead. DOABLE!

Destro was injured just before the window opened so I took up Vossen, who is shaping up to be a real bargain! 5 goals in six starts is great!
The other guy is a regen which my HoYD got for us. Not played him yet but he looks alright.
FRANCE
One game, and we won. Didn't expect anything else, a bit disappointed to concede!
Greece drew, which is great! Still hoping for a perfect qualifying campaign!

Had to replay the first two games but that doesn't really matter as the results were similar. Great form in the league, but a shaky one in the CL.
Despite the early loss to Juve, we have managed to do very well, keeping our points tally the same as theirs! Can only get better from here, hopefully!
We got to that last game against Shakhtar needing a win and we did amazingly well to get that! On to the next round, not sure who we will play, yet!
FRANCE
Great results in all of our games! Not conceded a single goal thanks to a strong defence and also thanks to us playing some of the weaker teams in Europe! Zinedine Zidane is my Assistant Manager, just a little random piece of information.
Hard for me to see us not finishing first. Would be a real shame! Hopefully we keep playing like we have so far and we should qualify with ease.

Pjanic out for £20M was a great deal. Was a good player but not good enough for me to turn down that offer! Munoz is my guy at the back! Going to get a lot of playing time and hopefully he will deliver! Vander is a Brazilian regen who I brought in to replace Pjanic and he is looking good!
Only played one game (beat Nigeria 5-1) before getting this offer:

We dropped 10 points in the league in the last 7 games, which is very disappointing! Mayve next year we can do better and concede less goals!
It is quite surprising that we finished 2nd. We dropped to many points to the lesser teams in the league, but I am going to try and shape up a good defence for the next season!
In transfer news, I have already started to look for a strong CB. Two players that I have on my list are Monteleone (had him in my Basel save and he was a beast) and Munoz of Palermo who looks like a great CB.

Good results, apart from that stupid loss to Fiorentina. That game against PSG was great and we have a 2 away goal advantage!
So we still have a chance but with only five games left I think Juventus won't lose two games, and even if they do, their GD is much better than ours.

Started this run badly, losing to Inter and making me cry myself to bed thinking we were going to sink! All that just for us to go on an amazing run! 14 game unbeaten streak in all competitions, and then we got smashed by Arsenal. Hopefully we can keep this form for a long time!
One major thing I had noticed is how bad our defence is. We conceded way too many goals and it is something that I will take care of in January!
So we are sitting top with a 4 point lead. Good for now I guess. Still not played Napoli so I am hoping to get at least a point before we start the second round of games!
Anything can happen in this crazy group! Last game is against Zenit, hoping for a good old 0-0 draw to secure us going through!
I didn't stop spending after the transfer window closed. I was offered Humam Tariq by his agent and I decided that he could be a great addition to the squad. Signing him cost us £8.25M which is a lot but I have a good feeling about him! Another player is Fahad Al-Shehri, a regen CM that looks good for the £350k we paid for him.

In transfer news, my HoYD decided to go out and buy another player without asking me, decent buy though as he is a RB and I needed one!

Assistant is to blame for these bad results. I think what we have learnt from the past two seasons is that it doesn't really matter what results we get in preseason so I barely give it any importance.
We were very busy in the transfer window this season, something which couldn't have happened at Sevilla Atletico.

No big names coming in. Most of these players I have never even heard of and got them due to my scout reports. Good profit made this window. I brought in two young Italian goalkeepers, Leali and Cragno, because this was one of the weakest areas in the team. I bought both for £1.5M just for my HoYD to go and buy Meret for £1.7M, without even asking me to finalise it!
Strootman wasn't really needed, and despite having great stats, he was injured for the majority of last season. So selling him for a huge sum of £25M seemed stupid to refuse! Marco Borriello left us due to his £100k / pw contract expiring. Why the hell was he in the reserves with such a high wage?!

So I jumped on the job. Good chance to make a better name for myself! They were sitting in 7th when I took over.
Was annoying to lose that last game but I guess it doesn't really matter.Great start to my Roma career. Hopefully next season can lead us to great things!
The board wanted Europa League and I delivered. We didn't have a realistic chance of making it to the CL so I am very pleased!
I have signed three players that will join us at the beginning of the season:
Gael Kakuta - Free transfer. Always liked him and I wanted to use him on FM for quite a while. Will strengthen our winger position as we have Baston and Gervinho, both failing to make a major impact
Eugeni - Played under me at Sevilla Atletico. Was one of the better players in the team! Only £1M so I believe that he can help us a bit as a rotation player.
Cristiano Biraghi - Looks a good LB, £2.4M so again, not too expensive. Only 22 so I can see him staying here for a while!
