Will you be doing a more detailed version with league cups such as the Northern League cup and the Peter Swales shield?

Not that interested to be honest but got it on whilst I play FM15.

Please man correct the name of this legend. I'm a supporter of São Paulo and have been watching him since always, it's Rogério Ceni and not Rodrigo Ceni. Thank you and awesome challenge by the way. Another note is that he has actually scored 123 Goals.

My apologies, auto-correct much have changed it. I've changed the post, however a staff member will need to change the title.

#213884 How long have you been playing CM/FM?
Deleted Account #151676
First got into football in general during the 2010 World Cup, and found out about Football Manager shortly after that. Been playing FM since a couple months after 12 came out.

It offends me that such a noob can be the only one to have completed British Steel.

mine was hinckley til they went under, i don't know if there will be a data extension far enough to play as them in the new game. so barwell or nuneaton are good ones. or my usual leicester,

Sounds like your not a million miles away from me mate.

Whilst everyone waits with baited breath for the full release of FM15 in an hours time now, lets take a stroll down memory lane, what was the first CM/FM game you played?

My first was CM2 which I brought from a car bootsale back in 1996;

I dread to think how many hours of my life this series has taken up in the last 18/19 years. Many of the members of this board, even some of the top footballers around now won't have been born when I first installed this bad boy on my old Acorn brand PC running MSDOS on Windows 95.

Seen a couple threads like this getting loads of replies around the FM scene recently so lets do one here with the intention of garnering a similar reaction!

Do you like to play as your local club, if so who are they?

Mine;

Living now: With a non-league expansion it would be Gresley FC, but they are in ND1S, so Burton Albion in the non-edited game.
Born: edited it would be Sutton Coldfield Town or Romulus as they share a ground. non-changed database it would be Aston Villa.

I recently came across a very similar challenge on the official SI forum and thought it would be a great bit of a fun for those who haven't settled into the a long term game on the FM yet, or perhaps you haven't purchased 15 and want something interesting to stir the imagination on a previous incarnation of the game.

There is a long tradition of goalscoring goalkeepers, particularly in South America, Jose Luis Chilavert scored 62 times in his career, including nine for Paraguay which makes him the keeper with the most goals ever, as well as been the only credited shot stopper to have scored a hat-trick. Rene Higuita of Colombia has 41 strikes to his name which is narrowly surpassed by Bulgaria's Dimitar Ivankov who has 42 from his career with the likes of Levski Sofia, Keyserispor and Bursapor.

But by far the most prolific gloved marksman is Sao Paulo's infamous Rogério Ceni who netted 121 times during his 22 year career with the club.

The idea is simple, get a goalkeeper, preferably a regen who has come through your clubs academy, to score as many as he possibly can in his career. get him assigned to take free kicks and penalties. A high eccentricity attribute is likely to help your cause as he will venture out of his box much more. You will need to manage his training to improve his freekick and penalty taking attributes in order to maximise the potential return of goals. (No in game editor!)

Good luck!

I'm not sure, possibly, however the risk of it causing errors within the database will likely be much higher than if you did it from scratch on the new editor.

Certain changes database changes such as player histories, favourite clubs/people and places of birth can be carried over. however league restructuring can't.

If like me you spend more time in the editor than in the game itself, you will be intrested in this;

Editing blog.

Well, that was an experiment that worked well.

With FM14 we took the plunge and released our first official in-game editor – it had been something I’d always been against as personally I’m a purist and want people to play the game “properly”. But who am I to stop people “accelerating their progress” should they want to? Or to “fix” data errors to ensure that their favourite player is now massively over-rated?

It did very well. More than well enough for us to not only make another one, but also add in loads of things that you, the people who use it for whatever reason (definitely not cheating – oh no, no one would do that), have asked for.

Drumroll please...

You can now edit contract types, plus bonuses and clauses
You can edit rivalries and favoured personnel. Both for players and clubs
You can “freeze attributes” meaning players will get no better, and no worse
New search filters – search by Current Ability and Potential Ability and all other hidden attributes. Or add them as custom columns. Or use the hidden attributes view
Change player registrations and squad numbers at any time
Transfer staff
Edit hair and skin colour, plus height and weight
You can edit languages - for people and nations
We’ve also made it easier to edit a players nationality
Finally, you can edit generic kits
All for the same price as the in-game editor last year.

It will be available from the in-game store at the games launch.

But, you ask, what about the competition & data editor?

For a start, and to confirm, that will remain free and available as a download for anyone who has bought FM15. It can be found in your Steam library under tools – or will be available there once the game is released. Thanks for all the continued feedback which helps steer what we add to it each year.

I’ve split this into 3 sections

New searches

Clubs – Local Region
People – Ethnicity, Skin Tone, Hair Colour
Contract end date
None playing history contains (team)

New editing options

Option to set a host national in continental club competitions
Option to prevent teams from playing in 2 continental coups at the same time
Golden Glove award now works
New sub rule – 3+GK from 9
When setting up a new competition – choose template.
Group stages for playoffs
Set points for draws, losses and goals
New suspension options

Other stuff

“Cancel” button
Auto save
Words now used instead of numbers for language proficiency
Recommended Current Ability
You can also now “publish to workshop” when saving an editor file.
Improved help system to better indicate when you're going to break the game with your data changes.

Happy editing!
Miles

I'm interested in the ability to assign points based on goals, I've always liked rugby union's bonus point if a team scores four tries or more in a game. I might set up my own league system with this rule as it seems like a good way of encouraging attacking football.
