Looks like you live in the 1800's Rick!
Did you feel the earthquake last night? You're that way on aren't you?

My boss just emailed me - his office is in Hemel Hempstead. They've all been sent home because there's been 2 inches of snow. Fucking South. A little bit of snow and everything shuts down!

Haha I pretty much do round here.
I didn't know we had an earthquake...so no.

Our game at Southend's been called off tomorrow on account the bastard snow.

I think most of tomorrows fixture list will be because of fan safety around the ground.

Right, So here's an in depth look at OC Khouribga who have entrusted a complete rookie with the reigns at their club.

Olympique Club de Khouribga
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/49/Ocklogo.png/110px-Ocklogo.png
Nickname: OCK
Founded: 1923
Stadium: Complexe OCK (10,000)
Division: Botola 1
2011/12: 9th

Honors:

Facilities:

Current Squad:
http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/Richard_Beale/1-27.png

As you can see the first team is fairly strong and should be capable of achieving the boards objective of a top half finish within Botola, I have my sights set even higher, Qualifying for either the African Champions League or Confederations Cup by finishing in the top four isn't beyond us if the players adapt well to my tactics. My biggest problem is obviously the language barrier as I speak neither Arabic or French so my assistant will be responsible for team talks to begin with.
One thing I will be looking to do is bring in a few young players as the average age of my squad is crazy, Only three players are under 27 years old.

And for those of you who like me have no idea about Botola, The league consists of sixteen teams who play each other twice between mid-September and April.
http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/Richard_Beale/4-4.png

In addition to Botola we will also be competing in Coupe du Trone (Throne Cup) which is a straight 32 team knockout tournament in which there is no seeding, all teams must play in every round.

Day One

There were over 100 jobs available as I looked for the starting point of my global adventure, And so the process of narrowing them down began.
South America and Europe didn't really interest me much as I have had games in those Continents before so that ruled out Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Moldova for now and left Africa and Asia for me to ponder over.

I applied for about 30 jobs in all, mostly ones I had either heard of or liked the logo and kits of. I received a response from most of those clubs and after studying what each of them would offer me in terms of financial situation, strength of playing squad and overall ambition I filtered down my choices...

Heart of Lions (Ghana)
http://dreamfoot.net/img/rtems/6482.gif?v=1
African Warriors FC (South Africa)

OC Khouribga (Morocco)
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1b/Logo_Hanoi_FC.png
Hanoi FC (Vietnam)

After extensive deliberation I eventually accepted the offer from Olympic Club Khouribga of Morocco who are in Botola (Morocco's top division) and have won said division as recently as 2008, A strong squad coupled with a transfer budget will give me optimum chance of achieving instant success in this strange, distant land.

After my Walsall game culminated in my sacking after two seasons I was gutted and have been struggling to find a game to motivate me to play FM since, But yesterday I stumbled onto inspiration by accident. I came across a website offering individuals the chance to go and coach football in some of the poorest and remote countries on Earth which is a dream of mine, There are thirteen different localitys available for you to choose from, These are;

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/ar-lgflag.gif
Argentina
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/bl-lgflag.gif
Bolivia
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/ch-lgflag.gif
China
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/gh-lgflag.gif
Ghana
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/in-lgflag.gif
India
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/ke-lgflag.gif
Kenya*
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/md-lgflag.gif
Moldova
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/mo-lgflag.gif
Morocco
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/ni-lgflag.gif
Nigeria*
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/pe-lgflag.gif
Peru
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/sf-lgflag.gif
South Africa
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/graphics/flags/large/vm-lgflag.gif
Vietnam*

Kenya, Nigeria and Vietnam are replacements for Senegal, Togo and Mongolia respectively whom I could not find editor data for.

Unfortunatly I doubt my ambitions of doing this in real life will ever come to fruition so I'll have to live out my dream on FM. I don't have any particular goals set for myself but if I do well it could develop into a Pentagon/Hexagon career. I very rarely play outside of England so this game is also a good chance for me to learn about some foreign leagues as I travel around a bit.

This is mainly aimed at Rick but if anyones seen him play, whats Karl Darlow like?

We've recalled him from his loan at Walsall, he played on Saturday and now McLeish has said that he is his first choice for now. We've signed some Kuwaiti lad as backup to him and looks like Lee Camp is off.

He was pretty solid for us, I wish we had extended his loan for the rest of the season as we have now featured five goalkeepers this season which doesn't help with consistency.
Good shot stopper who needs to work on coming for the ball but other than that he looks a decent prospect.

Are you doing much training for it?

Yeah we've been aiming to do 40 miles per week in January which equates to five miles a day Monday to Saturday and a ten miler on Sunday. We'll raise it to 50 next month and keep adding ten each month until May where we'll start winding down a bit before the actual walk.
I've started eating a lot healthier too which is something I've needed to do for a long time, Just never had the motivation until now.

The National Lottery is doubling it's price to £2 per line, People are up in arms about it being a tax increase on the poor, stupid and delusional. There's a pretty simple solution if you are poor though. Stop pissing your money away on gambling and stick it in the piggy bank FFS.

I've had a look around for you and came across this, no idea if it will work but it's worth a shot surely.
Open Steam and access your Games Library
- Right-click on Football Manager 2013-> Properties -> General -> Set Launch Options
- Type this in the box: -small_screen -windowed
- Click on OK, close the window and launch FM13 through Steam

I can't understand this outrage about there being horsemeat in Tesco's burgers, As far as the ingredients dolloped into processed burgers goes horse is probably one of the most healthy. For 58p did people really think they were getting quality meat anyway?
I usually buy fresh burgers or make them myself from minced meat which taste a million times better than tasteless frozen shit anyway.

I've had a quick look around the FM scene for you for a solution, Most people who have encountered this problem have realized it was the shortcut they were clicking that was the problem, perhaps if you try launching the game directly from your steam library you might get some luck.

The job center has just offered to pay my wife's wages for three months if Cancer Research will take her on permanently as assistant manager at the store she's been volunteering at, I'm really surprised, I didn't know they could do that. Great news though as the manager seems very happy to do so, she needs the go ahead from the area manager first though.
They (Jobcentre) are also talking about helping get our walk into national newspapers for us as a goodwill gensture. I take back all the negative stuff I've said about them in the past, They aren't useless after all.

Try running it in Windowed mode and see if that makes a difference.

Other than that perhaps perform a system restore to a point before you installed the updates to windows?

Downloaded Windows 8. I think I like it. The app tile is a bit of fun. Only major thing is having to triple click to get to all apps.

Yeah Windows 8 isn't anywhere near as bad as people make out, It has always run flawlessly for me with not a single crash or freeze, I couldn't say the same of Windows 7 or any prior installment.

some very handy tips there, i've started an FC united game, pretty good starting squad, big ground and good fanbase.

Thanks mate, You should find FCU fairly easy going. good luck.

I've updated the guide with a bit about 'greyed out' players and how it's always worth checking through your squad as there is often some very reasonable players there who can be offered a contract.

I find a conservative 4-4-2 is by far the most effective tactic in the lower leagues, It got me promoted at the first time of asking with my relegation tipped Walsall.
http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/Richard_Beale/1-1.png

However if you're up against a team who utilise an advanced midfielder who can draw your defence out of position or are facing a much bigger side who are going to have you on the back foot try switching to a very narrow formation such as this.
