If you are happy to, please share whatever .fmf file you have so far. I can then take a look and offer some advice. It’s a lot easier to troubleshoot by seeing what you’ve done in the context of the Pre-Game Editor. It also means I can try a few things and then only reply with guidance that will work.

 

That's very kind, thanks so much for reaching out.  Someone else sent me a DM offering to help and they're taking a look for me.  But thanks again.  I'll update the thread based on how things land.

I'm trying to create something similar, but the editor keeps failing the rules test.

 

I'm trying to create the following rules, specifically for Scotland (all divisions in the pyramid):

 

  • Add Squad Registration - min 25/max 30 (Scotland has no squad registration, only for continental comp)
  • Add a rule limiting the club to registering a maximum of 5 Foreign players (non-Scottish)
  • Add a rule requiring at least 5 u21 players in the match-day squad

 

I can get the 5 U21 player rule to work, but everything else fails.  Any chance you'd be willing to help me build this?  I'd be happy to compensate you for your time….

Hi folks,

 

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to add squad registration to the Scottish football pyramid, and create what I would have assumed (incorrectly) are rather basic rules around foreign player and u21 requirements.

 

I added nation rules for scotland and converted to advanced.  I have added for each of the 4 playable leagues + two cups the following:

 

Squad selection rules:

  • Over 21 Players in match squad (more than 4)
  • Foreign Players in Squad (less than 6)

 

Squad Registration Period

  • Checked “Add squad registration dates for transfer windows”
  • Checked “use squad registration start date” 
  • Entered into the field Max Squad size “30”

 

 

This is exactly what ChatGPT told me to do (after it offered to create both an .fmf file for me as well as an xml file to load into the editor - both did not work).

 

No matter what I do (I have tried some minor tweaks here and there) if fails the rule test.  It gives me the error message:

 

Error in nation rules

 

 Fixture rules in Scotland does not have a valid squad selection value

 

Does anyone have any experience in setting these kinds of rules?  any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

 

I would happily commission someone to do this edit for me (with a couple of other minor tweaks, if you're able/willing
