I’m sharing this in case it helps someone facing a similar issue.

 

I was trying to understand why a stadium rendering mod was working normally for other people, but not for me. 

 

Since the very first installation of the game, I had noticed a strange behavior: whenever I launched fm.exe, either directly from the executable or via a shortcut pinned to the taskbar, the game would open, immediately close, and then start again.

 

I had already researched this double-initialization behavior and found similar reports, including on the official Sports Interactive forums, but I never came across a clear explanation or an actual solution.

 

Interestingly, this did not happen when launching the game through the PLAY button in Steam. 

 

However, I supose that the mod needs the game to be started via the executable, I kept running into this issue.

 

Occasionally, the mod would work — specifically when the game did not perform that second restart. That’s when I realized the real problem was the two instances: the first one loaded the mod correctly, but it was being terminated; the second instance would launch without applying the expected rendering changes.

 

After a week of frustration and exhausting tests, the fix turned out to be very simple: delete the Preferences folder located at:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2026\

 

Once I removed that folder, the game recreated the configuration files and stopped relaunching automatically. From that point on, it started in a single instance and the mod began working consistently.

 

So in my case, it wasn’t a Steam issue, nor a problem with the mod itself — it was just a corrupted local configuration in AppData.

 

Lastly, I’d like to congratulate the creator of the stadium rendering mod — outstanding work. It genuinely enhances the immersion and overall experience of the game.

as far as i know only sampdoria stadium is there so far (altough is not listed in that list in google sheet)

@BassyBoyYT what is meant to be in the folder for the update? All I have is a Folder for BepInEx. Is that right?

I have problem that my lower league team stadium is all black. Maybe electric bill is not paid because looks like there is no lights.

 

I think somewhere was comment about that, but i dont find.

I checked one by one and added as comments splited in 

• #changed - the ones that I found the bundle with a misstype
• #This format xxxx:xxxx:bundle_name.bundle - particular cases that looks out of the pattern
• #missing bundle - the ones that the bundle is not on the CustomStadium list

 

I send it here if you need it. My next step is go throw the previous versions to check if I can find the missing ones to add to the CustomStadium folder.

I had to stop to work, but my intention was to use the app to check for mismatches in my team_mappings. 

 

For example, I noticed that in version 2.1, the bundle 631:Cheltenham.bundle is mapped, but although the JSON is Cheltenham, the bundle is cheltenham.bundle. I supose that I can just edit it and will work. 

 

Salford has both JSONs but not the bundle. I downloaded all previous versions to see if I can find it.

 

I don't know if this problem is general or if it's just in my case, where the steps was to install only version 2.0 and the 2.1 update. And of course I also needed to use v1.4 of StadiumInjection in order to fix my local GameAssembly.dll hash missmatch. 

@BassyBoyYT I can not connect the game to internet when I install the mod. Can't play multiplayer and can't log in to FM FC either. So, FM in-game editor is not available as well. Is it related to me/my computer or mod? Stadiums and fans load, I encounter no problems on that side.

First time downloading this update and am extremely excited by the prospect…

 

I have, however, run into a problem. 

 

I have downloaded both packs, and these are the files in the FM26 folder. When starting the game and seeing the log appear, I eventually get a whole host of red writing appear before the log closes. I then click FM26 again to relaunch the gam,e but get the same issue and FM doesn't load. Any suggestions here, please?

First of all, a big thank you @BassyBoyYT for the amazing mod. Can you please fix the lighting at the Red Star Stadium "Rajko Mitic"? 

The matches in the evening, say from 5:30 pm onwards, are quite dark.

The floodlights don't turn on.

How about San Siro Bassy? Is the dark pitch fixed in 2.1?

Because even wih hotfix in some games the San Siro still dark

Hi BassyBoyYT, Firstly, many thanks and appreciations for a superb add-on. Does v2.1 include the hotfix as I always prefer a clean reinstallation. 

Hey @BassyBoyYT question, you say you have to install the hotfix after if it's the first time download, do I download and just replace that BepInEx file from the standard pack after copying into the steamapps file or do I have both files in there? Thanks for the advice. I was able to follow it and get it to work. Unfortunately though I think this mod is too much for my laptop to handle. The match engine is very stuttery and jolty. Switching from 3d match highlights and back to 3d stats page during non highlights takes a couple of seconds to load up every time. And in match highlights sometimes the movement of players isn't smooth like it was before installing. 

I captured some images during match engine. Would this suggest that this mod is too much for my laptop to handle?

Iv also unfortunately just realised I have the malware blocker as I use Norton antivirus and I am not quite sure how to bypass it

 

Are you able to help explain how to do this please? I have the same issue and got the attached. I assume this means norton has deleted some files now that I need to find and reinstall v2.0 and hot fix again once I work out how to add this to my exclusion list in norton?

I have had nothing but bugs with this. I've even had a sky control box appear, The smaller grounds you can't see past so i've had to change the camera to aerial. The ball appears to blend in with the pitch also. Apart from that, it's been good.

is there anywhere some kind of explanation on how to do it? thx
