Im having a similar problem, logos and kits are showing fine, but player faces are not.

User/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2014/Graphics this is the folder i have put them in.

done the usual clear cache

reload skin when confirming changes in preferences is ticked
use cache to decrease page loading times is unticked
