Went from having Cech and Cudicini (when he was still class), to having Cech, Turnbull and Hilario.

Just part of the overall decline in quality of the squad since Mourinho, I guess.

Even Hilario's better than Turnbull. Hell, Paulo Ferreira's better than Turnbull.

Me either. It defies logic.

He's utterly shit. He must be tight with Roman, I can't think of any other reason he's still there.

He's a phenomenal prick yet still manages to not be the most unlike-able player at United.

Bonjour. Apparently Marcos Lopes is possibly joining us on loan, I've heard he's very promising, but will he be ready for the championship?

This was what I was going to ask about. Not entirely sure if he's ready for the Championship but my concern is more about the physicality of it than anything else, he's quite small. That said, he's ridiculously talented; very good technically and he's quick so if nothing else he'd make a great impact sub.

This should give you an idea of what he's capable of:

Was interested to see Dave Jones talking about a possible 'agreement' between City and Wednesday too.

I like how Vincent Kompany becomes Vinsonnn Kohmpanieee when he dons a Belgium shirt.

It's Vansonn actually. Martin Tyler's particularly bad for doing that.

Just to change the topic of conversation onto something less boring, do people agree with me that the League Cup has become in the last few years a genuinely exciting competition to watch? I love the fact it takes place on the weekdays, because it gives me something to do in the evening, there are always plenty of goals and it seems to have been managed well enough to turn around from being "oh fuck the Worthington Cup" to actually something exciting and worth keeping an eye out for. Yes some teams still don't take it super seriously, but in a way that's kind of helped the unpredictability to the cup.

Yes.

According to Toulouse, you've signed Moussa Sissoko. For a stupidly small fee too, from what I've read.

You're missing my point. Whatever the ball boy did, however old he is, whatever he said before the game - you can't kick a ball boy. I'm not defending him, but you telling me all this stuff about who he was/ what he did is completely irrelevant to the point I'm trying to make. Hazard kicked him (or the ball, but whatever) - you can't do that, regardless of what a little shit the ball boy is. Saying that because the ball boy was lying on the ball first somehow justifies Hazard's actions is bullshit when it comes to the rules. You can't do what he did.

This.

You should stop right here mate. He kicked the fucking ball not the kid. If he gets more than 1 game ban I'll be pissed.

It's violent conduct, you stupid cunt. He'll be banned for 3 games unless it's successfully appealed - and that seems highly unlikely.

Because the five grandes are rivals (even if San Lorenzo aren't direct rivals to Boca/River/Racing/Independiente) and as I said before, he's a San Lorenzo fan. He clearly has a degree of fondness for Newcastle, it seems unlikely he's going to fuck over Newcastle so he can get paid fuck all (pretty much every Argentine club is poor) for a team he doesn't like.

And players do move between Buenos Aires clubs - but that's only because 3/4 of the league are from B.A. - big-names like Coloccini don't move between clubs like that, most big-names get sold abroad. The closest I can think of in recent times is Mauro Camoranesi leaving Lanús for Racing and they aren't even rivals. Most of the older Argentine players returning make a point of going to their club, Maxi Rodriguez and Newell's or David Trezeguet and River for example.

Are the UKIP like the Sinn Féin of Ireland?

Nah.

They're right-wing; the 'acceptable' face of racist, euro-skeptic Britons everywhere.

Lib Dems still have supporters, despite fucking up massively since the previous election?

Not really, what I was thinking (although some have stuck by them for some reason). It's more that there isn't an obvious candidate to win a majority. The Tories are phenomenally unpopular for being cunts, Labour have utterly failed to offer an alternative and the Lib Dems basically told most the people who voted for them last time, to fuck off. The only party that looks in a decent position is UKIP but they're not strong enough/too racist to win a majority.

At this point at least, I'd be expecting a record low turnout with no party managing to win enough support to get a majority - with a scrappy fight to form a coalition.

It's been a while since I've written about politics.

I get the impression we want a striker who can play on the wing and after failing to get Remy (and presumably other targets) we've settled for a cheaper option as and have spent the money elsewhere. From a couple of French experts, they seem to be suggesting Gouffran is good, but not great. Also read he's not very quick.

By the sounds of it Pardew wants to return to the 4-3-3 and wants his new striker(s) to be comfortable playing out wide when necessary.

He's a San Lorenzo fan. He's not going to move to one of the other grandes and the likes of Vélez and Argentinos can't/won't buy him.
