To put into context Stirling won their opening game 5-1 and then lost every single league game after it - until yesterday.

Even Clyde won at Forthbank - and they went out of the cup to a Highland League team yesterday.

While it was decidedly poor from us, Morton took their chances when they did - and we didn't, end of story.

I thought that despite their third goal, Morton weren't that great, particularly from open play, when we went a man down we came right back into it and they struggled to deal with us. Perhaps we should have had that penalty but it's hard to say when it's up the other end.

As for the Murray red, I can't really complain, I thought at first it was a typical Murray challenge, a little mis-timed but not malicious, maybe it was but it was still foolish to go in the way he did on a yellow.

All good runs come to an end at some point, we've now got to pick ourselves up for the semi next week and get it out of our system in time for Airdrie at Firhill on the 20th.

Thistle v Celtic will be the Premier game in the 2nd city of the empire if things go as they are. Looking forward to Sky chucking the money at us for it.

Goalkeeper: Jonny Tuffey - It's hard to choose between him and Fox but Tuffey gets it for being there for 5 years as opposed to Fox's 2.

RB: Stephen O'Donnell
CB: Alan Archibald
CB: Aaron Muirhead - Only been here a few months but in honesty, I can't think of a better CB partnership we've had since 2005/6 than him and Archie.
LB: Aaron Sinclair

RM: Paul Cairney
CM: Gary Harkins
CM: David Rowson
LM: Chris Erskine

CF: Mark Roberts
CF: Kris Doolan

Still reckless from Shelvey. I'd be annoyed if one of my team's players was sent off for that but looking at it again you can see why he was sent off.

Suarez is much better at cutting in than being direct and playing as a striker.

Paul Cairney play well, Hibee?

As for our game yesterday we were by and large very poor. Can't play like that against better teams in this league, we afforded Cowden a lot of room to play and time on the ball, leading to their rather peachy goal. The defending for it could have been better [like closing down a bit quicker after Shug lost the ball] but it was a fine strike from Jamie Stevenson.

On to Kirkcaldy next week, promises to be a tough test.
