I'm amazed at how people managed to win the league still

Tactics and dynamics Dan. Once you get on a run with a good tactic and high confidence from the players you can become almost invincible. I do kind of feel like cheating playing with 3 upfront though, it is so over powered.

Special thanks to @Shedender, otherwise I would have had no clue that Cruzeiro is CEC.

An insane season with a ridiculous amount of goals, and a 14-13 ! penalties win in the South Minas-Rio final. A goal difference of 81-30 in the 29 games I played, that is just nuts.

So how did you manage to sign players who want between 5k-10k per week for only 700 per week? How did you even manage to have them negotiate? Below taken from my save of the players all you've signed and their approximate demands. At around the same time you've signed them I've tried to, with none of them interested:

Clearly the 50% increase on salary may have played a part, but no way would these players sign for such paltry salaries or loyalty fees. Chamakh and Lucio would want a hell of a lot more, as would the agents.

And you still have over 12k left of your salary budget!

As I said, we are all running on the same save file and these players won't even talk to me. I'd be interested to hear how you've managed it and on anyone else that has tried to sign these players.

Correct me if I am wrong here please.

When I first started the save Stephen Kelly didn't want to talk to me. Once I signed the Welsh players he did. Wage demand was (as far as I remember) nothing close to the 5-10k you mention, I can honestly not remember what they asked for to begin with.
As I understand it, whether players are willing to talk to you or not, depends a lot on the standard/rating of your current squad. This is why some people do multiple 1 month loans to start with in non-league clubs, this raises the strength of the team and in turn makes higher quality players willing to join on long terms deals, I think it is debatable whether this loan strategy is cheating or not. Long story short, the better your current players are the better players you can attract.

As for how I got them to agree to fairly low salaries this should be evident from the screenshots you posted yourself.

I am pretty sure the wage budget is as high as it is because it has been updated for the next season.

You do know FM has a default Screenshot hotkey, right?

Right you are. I am running windows on a macbook with a separate mac keyboard.
Is there an easier way to do screenshots with this setup than fn+shift+f11 then paste to paint like I am doing now ?

That's it for the Irish old man challenge. Very very easy in my opinion, the teams reputation must be much too high compared to the quality of the other players involved.
As you will see from the season preview screen shot my team had every single spot except for wingers, only due to the fact that I didn't play with wingers.

We only lost 2 games all season, one friendly draw and won the rest...

There is no way I should have won that final, Nigeria was by far the better team, they missed a penalty and I scored from a penalty.

my first time playing fm since fm2012. Gotta say this was a fun challenge, a lot different from how I'd normally play. If this was a long term play I would for sure have sold both ndong and kone to help with the finances.

This team is way too good to be in the championship, the only real weak points are, in my opinion, keeper and strikers.
I had no shot at getting top goal scorer as Grabban got injured already on jan 15 and out the rest of the season.

That should be 65 points I think.
