I have a folder with around 400 images still to compare, but I've extracted the Luton images and will try my hardest to have them included in the next update

This query is raised every time a new version of FM is released, both for FM13 and for FM14.

Once the Resource Archiver is released, we generally extract the SI images and automatically add those which are not in our megapack. iirc in the last versions there were around 2 or 3 thousand images released by SI, a large chunk of which will already have cutouts in the megapack.

As you may appreciate, manually comparing the bulk of those with the images in the MP takes a lot of time and is tremendously, mind-numbingly boring. Annually, only a relatively small amount are better than the existing MP images, while a good amount would be improvements if they were "cleaned" by our cutters. By cleaning, I mean fixing the poor cutting, snow, cropping and the adding of the occasional iris and ear (and I'm not even kidding).

In addition before doing all this, the files have to be renamed from player name to UID, e.g. John Smith's pic will have to be renamed as 123456. Although this task can be done with the graphics configurator program fmXML, a fair chunk of images every year are incorrectly mapped and so their UID has to be manually sought for in the editor. Again, this is a very tedious task.

As you may have noticed, the amount of cutters is not enormous and I don't blame them for not giving this task priority. But there's only so much I can do, unfortunately.

I only write this so that you, and anybody else asking, can understand why this is not as easy as it may look.

Generally speaking, if somebody points out individual images they think would be improvements, then I can give them a look. Whole teams or divisions is a different kettle of fish, however, although I can make an exception if a particular team's SI cut-outs are significantly better than ours.

In addition to all the above, something to keep in mind is that, just because an image is newer, it is not automatically considered as an improvement. You have to take into consideration the lighting, face orientation, cutting quality etc. For example, the MP's image may have been cut from an HQ source a year ago, while SI's was poorly cut 2 months ago. In this case, I would tend to prefer to retain ours. After all, players can move clubs in-game, so it wouldn't make that big a difference if 2016/17 Scunthorpe's John Smith is showing the 2013/14 Bournemouth kit instead of the 2014/15 Bolton kit, for example.

Ideally, of course, every player's cut comes from an HQ source from this season, but our resources are not unlimited, unfortunately.

I appreciate the response and the work that goes into cutting! I wasn't sure how hard a job it would be to add images from the game so thanks for clearing that up for me.

If its possible could you do the below, time allowing, they are all in the FM15 game an not in the latest facepack.

Is it possible to upload the facepack without losing the graphics within the game already?

Started a game on FM15 as Luton but don't want to lose all the under 18s faces that are in the game by adding the facepack which they aren't currently included in.

Hi i know this isn't the proper way to request but as with every year when the new game comes out there are faces that are in the game that are not in the mega pack, usually youth, or ones that have better quality faces than in the mega pack ie more recent pic. I notice these mostly with Peterborough and Luton, two teams I play as.

Is there a way to quickly add these faces from the game into the mega pack rather than someone having to re cut them all??

Apart from the fact that everything about your request is wrong those pics (headshots) are way too small to cut.




Apologies for not requesting properly, im not a regular, is it not possible to zoom or increase the size of the original image? my only thinking is that it is probably very unlikely that there are better images out there of these players considering that they are a conference under 18s side, what would be your opinion, do you think it would be possible to source better images of these guys?
